I'm going to setup a base along a river, then collect up enough resources to take with me up river and settle down. maybe start an RP adventure log on my adventures. find a village, then wait for notch to implement NPC's(if he hasn't by 1.8) and raid a village.
the endermen don't seem as scary in-game as the writings i've read led me to think, they are a bit creepy when chasing you with those green eyes. (insert endermen smiley here)
Going to build an underwater city in the fancy new oceans, then probably look for that delicious new chicken and beef.

due to the fact I'll have to travel west 100's of blocks before I get to see any of the new landforms, I'll probably just make a new save to see the new stuff, then get back to my current save.
1) Wait for my server to reset/update.
2) When it does, I'll get on Skype and yell at my server friends to get on.
3) With my buds, we'll explore all there is to explore
(in this order: dungeons, get killed by endermen, new biomes, spam eating animations, drown in an ocean, fall off a large mountain, get killed by more endermen, find an NPC village by a river, Flood the village, then blow it up.) Somewhere in there we'll probally get blown up by creepers.
Pretty much anything you can think of

OT: make new world. Explode. Build house. See enderman. PEE ALL OVER CHAIR. Kill enderman. Build house out of souls of the damned. Realise that it's all our fault. We found the nether. We mined the lightstone which protects us. We RELEASED THEM. What have we done? I must find the source, even if I have to die to save us all. *cough* epic roleplay off *cough*

Make a new save to not break my old one with the bugs, confirm the game is unplayable then logout

Log back in and enjoy half of the features they were planning to implement.
This is about how I went about things since the halloween update, past the point of of being disillusioned now.
Well, what with the plugins for the server I play on having to update, I'll not update first.
But, when I doupdate, I will go to the edge of the new map for theserver, find a nice river, and build a boat house with a boat.
I like the idea for the post, no wonder you've gotten so many replies
