I don't like or think that these ideas of things that already exist in the game are true. Notch/Jeb wouldn't put that much work into a mob without it adding a new concept to the game. I like the ideas of teleportation powder or invisibility potion. Maybe for the invisibility powder it would just be a faint outline of your character.
I still mantain it should only drop whats in its hands. You shouldn't feel entitled to a prize just because you beat it.
If you want the mob to retain its creepiness and not be "OMG HE DROPS DIAMONDS, LEEERROOOOOOY JEEEENKKIIINS!!!" all over him, then give the player no reason to be brave around him, but still make the mob a challenge.
They could always drop a lot more exp then most of the other mobs. Would be a little pointless right now but would be nice after skills are in the game.
Well, either Nocth or Jeb said that they wanted a way to make tools stronger without a new block. Maybe they'll drop some gel which can be used to coat tools and make them stronger?
They are "Temporary" diamonds.

Real men play on hard when 1.8 comes out.
5 minutes later real men stay on easy or peaceful and hide in their houses. :biggrin.gif:
They will drop nothing, and you will like it.
And it seems that they carry sand and dirt blocks. Not worth it
No, thats what it MIGHT be.
It may be to encourage enderman interaction, or it may be the actual drop. Who knows?
But if they did drop diamonds or something really useful, maybe people would oversize their mob grinders seeing as endermen hate water.
Small chance to drop a book which can be used to tell you about blocks you put into it.
*Looks over at the Aether mod's lore books*
Clearly they are here to collect knowledge and record their findings so they can beam it back to their people so they can rebuild their doomed planet.
Food fills your food meter, which if its full heals you slowly over time, and if its low does damage over time. (Already confirmed If I recall)
Endermen could drop an instant-healing item, that maxes your HP but doesn't affect hunger.
