Your best bet may be to carefully aim your arrow to do maximum damage. Of course, as mentioned, we still don't know if the rest of the pack will aggro or not - I'm guessing so, just like zombie pigmen.
well, if you're on SMP you could just use /home or something. . .
Lol.
You know what I think would be cool? Say you are very far from your home, doing whatever, and you happen to find an Enderman (yes, singular) and **** him off. You type /home, but the Enderman continues its pursuit.
You know he is going to eventually reach your home, but it's going to take him a while (depending on how far away you were when you provoked him).
That, in my opinion, would be pretty freaking creepy.
Well, considering Endermen teleport if they cannot reach you ( Too far or not traversable) They teleport a few blocks away in your line of sight. So you could /home back to your base only to have him appear in front of you seconds later.
Is it just me or does nobody think this through?
Minecraft is not flat people. You may look at endermen while on a cliff, while they are one a cliff, etc.
Also, there will also be other hostile mobs. You don't really expect to walk right up to them without confrontation, right?
Thirdly, it is almost impossible to keep your crosshair on something that small. it may be tall, but it is not wide.
Lastly, you really think youre going to stop your crosshair RIGHT ON the endermen?
Really?
Chances are you were examining your surroundings. For all we know, an endermen may be charging towards you at any given moment. You never know. And if you do stop your crosshair on it, you must have been purposely drawing its attention. you would have to move your mouse so slowly to stop right on the endermen. You really think they are as large as gabe newell? you wont be able to stop on them. Period.

Notch said that the Enderman's actions are to blame on your mistakes. They're not going to attack you unless you disturb them. If you make the mistake of looking at them directly then that's your fault. Just avoid them. They'll probably do a somewhat high damage but have a normal amount of health like the other mobs. And people seem to be excluding the creepiness factor, having a 3m high monster stare you down will probably get you nervous enough to accidentally move your mouse away, which will lead to him running full speed at you, teleporting to you. The weak-minded will **** their pants.
TL:DR Kill it like any other mob, if you're brave enough to look at it.

From what I understand, the Endermen will be able to teleport once every second if they are out of sprinting distance of the player. That means that they won't be able to just teleport to you instantly; depending on how far away from them you are, it's going to take a few seconds. I'm assuming that once they are within sprinting distance (we still do not know how close/far that will be), the teleporting will stop and they will resort to running again.
So, in regards to my previous suggestion, the Endermen would be teleporting once every second on their way to your house, so it's not going to take them forever. It will take a couple of minutes though, depending on how far they are.
Sadly, Notch will probably make it so that Endermen just forget about you if you type /home.
Why would Notch make Endermen so overpowered that you have literally no options that don't end in death after you look at one? When you hit a creeper, does it go insane and blow up before you can possibly hit it again?
Creepers do that for me. Hit them once, back away, they begin to charge and explodes even though I'm 6 blocks away.
Lol.

A while ago and it was even announced on the forums. :smile.gif:
