Well since there will be way more meat in the Adventure update, wouldn't it be way too easy for us to heal up? I hope we get some sort of butcher knife to craft, so when just punching or hitting a mob with a sword won't get you any meat, and we can build hooks that hang from the ceiling so we can clean the meat, because it might be too dirty or something. I think just punching a pig, then bare handingly RIPPING the muscle off of it's bones and cooking it is really unrealistic, even for Minecraft. It's just too easy. I know I've seen a butcher knife idea somewhere I don't know who it was by though. And going through the butchering, hanging, cleaning, and cooking phases will feel so accomplishing, and to make it more satisfying, Mojang could make an audio file of someone eating meat like "Mmnomshnom *tongue smack* shnom". I know this should sort of be in the suggestions page, but it's about an upcoming feature, I don't know you can move it if you'd like.
Well, whether it's being added in this update or not we are eventually getting persistent animals, (the implications being that there are a finite number of animals in any given area, and you will have to visit new areas to find new animals to kill) so once animal meat is a limited source it should balance out nicely
I hope there will be a way to breed animals, so you don't kill off the whole population in the few days, or have to travel really far. Breeding should've been the first thing Mojang should've thought of when they released infdev.

If animals can't respawn, they might as well remove leather armor. And since they might be changing what zombies drop - they might as well remove arrows as well. (oh lolol u cn just get them frm skeletons)
Yes, because we all know that they can't change drop rates in accordance to this.

Nature should really stop catering to all these furries! I mean, do we REALLY need two kinds of elephant? Puh-leaze.

Captivation and breeding allow for more animals, as well as exploring new chunks.
All animal drops will still be applicable and useful, including feathers from chickens.
I feel that with hunger and more food the game will bring more variation and more reason to eat food. I have stockpiles of bread and porkchops, and 2 large chests full of mushroom soup. I would love a reason to use them more often, as most of the time I don't engage mobs much and mostly only loose damage from falling.
I guess the more food we get, the easier it is to refill the Hunger bar. We still need to manage our health though, since healing won't be instant. Armor will also be more needed when fighting hostile mobs.

Why would they have made breeding when they probably hadn't fully thought out how adventure would work?

No...
Jeb has confirmed this.
It just means that instead of passive mob grinders, we will need passive mob pens.

The only question remains if they don't respawn, how do you get more animals?(I need to read down more often)That said, it sounds like the most stable food source is still going to be wheat and fish.
