well,i was playing in 1.1 survival tower and i discovered 3 bugs
1: when you hit a chest with an arrow the items inside will be deleted!!
2:when a creeper is hissing it can walk on a sign and when explodes it only sounds, no explosion or even damage
3: when you put a chest surrounded by glas like this:
and try to place a sign in a glass, the sign sticks to the chest

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
I tried, and could not reproduce whatever the OP saw.
I unloaded a bunch of arrows into many chests, and all items inside always stayed intact.
Slightly disappointing; but quite a relief at the same time. Such a bug could have proven to be disastrous indeed.
