Armor weaker? Well, no problem, golden apples got cheaper! :laugh.gif:
They got nerfed too, but yea, makes them useful. I'm looking into automatic harvesting of trees/leaves...would be nice to have a good supply of apples. Since 1 gold bar = a little more than 1 golden apple, golden apples are a viable option for when you are exploring/getting your butt whooped.
Gold is a very light material, why 50%?
Why make iron slow you down more than diamond, since diamond is stronger I feel like that would need to slow you down more.
I vote:
Leather 95%
Chainmail 80% (If it would become craftable, chainmail is light.)
Gold 85%
Iron 70%
Diamond 55%
Because diamond is lighter.
but makes sense seeing as how diamond would make shitty armor.
So is this change only harder difficulties or all of them? Because it does make sense to me to give hard difficulty players the challenge they want, but for others, I agree with the reasoning: why have armor if it's not armor? Not everyone likes or wants such an intense challenge.
I'm so happy that armor was made weaker. It was simply too powerful in previous versions.
All I need for now is music to play more frequently, situational music, and revert bricks to their previous form in which thye took 3 seconds to dig with all tools.
I honestly think the armor was overpowered i mean on survival servers, full diamond armor it takes forever to kill eachother, i mean damn its like 100 hits later, finally your armor broke...and the first time i ever had diamond armor in survival singleplayer i almost forgot i was even wearing it, and i was in the nether just wandering around when i fell in lava, and i thought for a sec i was invincible...when in fact it was just my armor. :tongue.gif:
Minecraft combat is still horrifically broken. Armor made no difference to me-As long as you keep even a small amount of attention to your surroundings, you areoverpowering everything with the combat system. Even with wooden and stone grade weapons, you can kill anything and at least hold Endermen at bay. Armor was a petty excuse for people to complain about and that's my own opinion.

Mobs, in this new version, now have greater range as well, and zombies are a bit faster. Skeletons are also WAY better shots. Zombies can also path around obstacles, making them harder to avoid.
I do agree that endermen are pitifully weak. However, taking on more than 1-2 zombies at a time is a serious threat.
Man, I just completed a full diamond set a couple days ago. Not that I think armor should stay the way it was, but I'm kinda bummed that I didn't get to fully enjoy the supreme protection.
i have a fix for your problem 2 gold armor pieces and 2 leather armor pieces leather for long lasting crappy armor and gold for high damage taking gone with one creeper armor :Flint and Steel:

Since armor was nerfed back, in other words, does that mean enchantments to armor are nerfed as a result of the armor nerf?
I'm asking this because it seems to me that how much increase of damage protection enchantments give to armor have decreased. Unless I'm just seeing things, like my health bar taking more fall damage even with a feather fall III boots on.

What? I was chopping trees in my farm and zombie attacked me, I circled him around the tree, he got stuck behind leaves and I could calmly continue gathering wood while he was shouting at me from the distance of 3-7 blocks.
No pathfinding yet, it's just your imagination, AI guy is still working.
Also, I've never had problem with zombies, no matter how many of them were attacking me. The only dangerous thing they can do is push me down to lower cave with other mobs.

There was a video someone posted that showed how zombies would path around a wall. It's possible that it hasn't been implemented yet. I apologize if I am incorrect.
If you are getting mobbed (pardon the pun) by zombies, they do become a threat. Even will full iron armor, at least for me - and I consider myself to be a decent fighter, at least in previous version - they are difficult in the new update due to their increased range and the fact that armor has been nerfed.

This post made me happy. I always wished that mobs in this game were more than just slowly walking sandbags that could do nothing to you unless they came in hordes. With that AI guy working on it, maybe fighting 2 or 3 zombies at a time won't be such a snooze fest! :biggrin.gif:
But yea, I appreciate the armour fix, I got really annoyed one day when I got snuck up on by a creeper, which blew up point-blank, and I landed in some lava. The only significant damage I took was from fire -.- (which wasn't even an issue since there was a pool of water nearby).

Neat.

Then that's sad. Yes, you're clearly confused when you don't understand that some prefer one thing over another.
I feel like adding a giant facepalm image here, but I've been warned for that 2 times before.

If you want me to respond, quote my post.
How to not die in a cave
only 1-2 zombies? are you kidding?
