--I'm running around in the Nether doing the non-armor thing. I know ghasts were nerfed, but I didn't think it was this bad. I usually run around in the nether with an iron top, but I expected them to do decent damage if I had no armor.
They do 2 hearts on hard, the explosion. Zombies do 3 damage..
I think they should do that much to full iron, but no armor? This game is getting a little too soft. :/
Edit: I checked again, it's actually 2.5. xD
The regen absorbs half a heart of damage when taken.
Just make a tweet with: @-Insert Jeb's Twitter Username- Same as how most peeps tweet peeps. He dun need'a follow you.
Thanks. Now that I think about it I don't think I should tweet Jeb, he probably hears this stuff all the time. I'll just complain in the general discussion. lol

And that is how The new update discussion was created. But yea,it seems that ghasts are so tough, but a few arrows tend to kill them,id be nice if they threw more fireballs at you and had a good buff of health.

You don't even need arrows, you can swat the bombs back at them with your bare hand..
Anyone here who has NOT done a super-hostile map and who thinks the current mob system is "Easy" ide refer you to do one of the Rom-Hack Maps, only then can you realize how hard the mob system actually is.
I say that Ghasts get a new AI that makes them more boss like.
What I had in mind was this:
They try to dodge the fireballs
Their speed becomes sluggish after 2-4 succesful dodges
They shoot a super fast fireball when they are low on energy and then stay stationary, ragining stamina.
Yea Sure lets already increase the .jar file which has Doubled since 1.7.3 from 1600 to 3200 They need to seriusly compress files for their mob system and world generation, i used to get 600 FPS (Running Mc on 4GB's of RAM With a 128x Pack) now i get like 80

You can give me a quick summery why they are harder in super-hostile.
In the regular vanilla ssp, they seemed to be nerfed a lot. I mean yeah, there's a chance they can make you fall in lava, but that shouldn't be the concern when getting a bomb lobbed at you.

Well lets think about it, in super hostile theyre are areas purposely secluded and kept dark so that the max spawn can be reached, the same thing can happen to you if you light up to many tunnels in the chunks your in, and you could have one hell of a night, but i can tell you this comming from me being someone who has defeated all the super hostile maps, i think the current mob system is very appropriate. The real killers in the nether are blazes thats why they added them, the ghats already had their time, their just as he said "more of an annoyance" But blazes are the replacement killers in the nether now. But the rest of the mobs in MC seem balanced to me, it all really depends on your skill level. I mean me, since i have beat all the super hostiles, can strole across the night with a stone sword and be perfectly fine the whole night. And i like it that way, you want a challenge, do a challenge map, thats what the game is really balanced around. Player created challenges
The game must be balanced for vanilla minecraft maps, not for super-hostile maps, so it dosent matter how hard it's a super hostile map.
But Ghast are more likely to be an annoyance than a boss, a group of pigmen suported by a Ghast is a pretty deadly combo in my opinion. But yeah, Ghasts could have more punch in it's fireballs, and some more hit points to match their size.
Well lets think about it, the idea of the game is whatever you want. But the main attraction of the game to people is the ability to create or play any type of map or game mode you want. They have to take this into account and see how hard or easy someone could actually make the game to be, they have to design the mob system so that your able to survive some really tough stuff, thats why vanilla seems so easy.

Yup, when you are running through a huge dungeon full of spawners and ****, you think differently...

Actually, vanilla was meant to be difficult, and then if you can't handle it you lower the difficulty. Bombs being shot at you should kill you if you have no armor, enough said.

I disagree, the game has evolved from revolving around vanilla, to revolving around player created game play, that's just what it boils down to.

@Ixinon: hard mode :/
That's true, didn't think of that. They seem more of an annoyance then threat.

I remember ghasts being strong, I think this is getting rather silly. X_x
I think the bomb used to blow up more area too.
What I had in mind was this:
Remember kids, when the mod crashes delete system32!

No im not saying its a bad idea, i think thats just low on the list of things needed to be implemented honestly
