Mo' creatures is terrible. Did you see there jellyfish? It's just a mini-ghast!
Shameful. Jellyfish deserve better than that.
I used mo' creatures in 1.8, I never even got to see the jellyfish. lol
Mo' creatures kinda blew. 17 animals dropping leather and getting raped by a werewolf when I had no gold at the beginning of the game. Don't forget the 3 cave ogres that spawned next to each other, dropped diamonds and destroyed the diamonds before you could grab them.
Now don't go and tell me "OH BUT WE HAVE EXPLODING PENISES AND ALTERNATE DIMENSIONS!" That is NOT a valid excuse for things lacking sense. Honestly. I like the idea of Ocelots -> Tamed Ocelots -> Cats.
I really dont like the fact that they change creature. Its really ridiculous. It just doesnt make sense, although lots in minecraft doesnt ( )
As for a purpose, i think they should help the player hunt passive mobs similar to wolves, but unlike wolves run away from hostile mobs.
They should really have unique traits different to wolves, such as fishing, but this is just a weekly snapshot so im not that worried yet. Come on mojang, finish some things first!
I'm not complaining about the addition of Ocelots over Monkeys. I love the Ocelots, I think they are awesome, but I really wanted the skin to remain an Ocelot upon taming and then being able to breed domestic cats.
That is the alternative I am suggesting. I am not bitching about this feature, I'm suggesting...
And if this is to be moved to the suggestion forums then so be it but I feel this is the right place to DISCUSS 1.1

I like the ocelots. They look much better than the house cats. Leave the house cats to Mo' Creatures. I want to tame an ocelot, and have it stay an ocelot!
So why couldn't they just make it so all 4 types must be found and tamed? The ocelot should still be jungle-specific, but I dunno if the others should be biome-specific or just random.
Then the cats would actually go from wild to domestic but still keep their texture, and not magically change.
I'd prefer it if the others weren't found in the wild, honestly (I know Minecraft has a penchant for being unrealistic in this sense, but there's still a simple beauty in the idea of getting domesticated cats from breeding ocelots).
Another **** implement that is magically supported by the community.
I understand Minecraft is unrealistic, but that is a poor excuse for no common sense. A wild thing shouldn't instantly transform into a domesticated one because you gave it food.
Seriously people, stop hiding the problem. It would be cool if you just accept the issue for what it is and let Jeb fix it, and not go under the assumption that everything is okay.
Yes, ocelots (or ozelots) should become domesticated cats only after a generation of breeding. Wolves stay wolves when tamed, ocelots should stay ocelots. Ocelots also need some more features such as being able to sit, and being able to scare spiders away from your house or something.
I don't know what to think. I like how the cats look, but there is a charm to their wild forms. Either way the transfer from wild to domesticated cat is kind of strange. Perhaps something should be done to the transition part, but it shouldn't be removed entirely.

I agree with this. I have been playing for about an hour now in my new jungle and luckily found 1 lone Ocelot. Tamed it and it turned into a black cat. I immediately thought, "whatever, I'll just change the texture later..." But as I kept playing and the little black cat followed me, he began to grow on me. Err I mean... OSCAR began to grow on me. At this point, I like him as a black cat but I am still on the fence about retexturing him or not.
I will have to see as time goes on.
I also like Jellymob's solution to this problem.

I love how they turn into domestic cats. You're domesticating a wild cat. Now I think they should change wolves to look more like a real wolf, then when you tame it, you can breed various domesticated dogs like the cats. Seems like a good idea to me.
Well technically, if I were to hypothetically go into the wild and somehow tame an Ocelot, it would not change color.
That's most of my concern on this. If I tame an Ocelot, I want an Ocelot. If I breed that Ocelot to get a house cat, then I want a house cat.
Of course all this can be solved by changing the texture of tamed cats so I suppose it doesn't justify that much of a change.

Yeah, the current implementation kinda sucks. I just really want an actual ocelot companion that will go running so fast and free, like Fujimora Pantsu and me. Maybe give it a domesticated cat like attitude so that it occasionally deigns to attack with you but mostly just lounges around and watches you fight.
Oh, and I really like the idea for there to be a random chance for the baby ocelots to be born as domesticated.
My animals are in the fence. Wild animals are not.

currently its this:
1.) Tame Ocelot
2.) ???
3.) Ocelot is now a cat.

Just like when I tame a wolf, it stays a wolf.
Playing Minecraft since [Friday, March 19, 2010, 9:20:21 PM] (First indev world save)
give raw fish: tamed ocelot that will fight for you like wolves.
give cooked fish: house cat.
it would make everyone happy and having a actual fighting ocelot shouldn't be too difficult to do since its already been done with wolves.
I'd prefer it if the others weren't found in the wild, honestly (I know Minecraft has a penchant for being unrealistic in this sense, but there's still a simple beauty in the idea of getting domesticated cats from breeding ocelots).
Predicament Resolved.
Have fun with your useful ocelots and your pretty house cats all at once.

That still doesn't explain it very well, as you're still comparing opposites.
A proper explanation for this oxymoron is that ocelots are "wild cats" (like tigers and lions) and this particular one is tame (like one at a zoo.)
Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.
