I mean, seriously. As soon as Jeb stepped in to take Notch's place, good things started happening. Flat worlds, spawning mobs in creative, bug fixes, the list goes on. And on top of that, we don't get any more drunk twitter posts from Notch (lol) and Jeb even puts out weekly snapshots.
However, the one thing that Jeb is extraordinary at is that he actually adds things that people want. Take the ladder "fix" for example. People didn't like the ladder-hitbox loss, so Jeb simply re-added it again. If Notch was still working on Minecraft, he would have probably added some glitchy useless feature that nobody cares about(like swamps) instead. Whenever Jeb adds something, you are always saying "****, that is AWESOME!" I mean, look at the new jungle biomes! They are beautiful!
All in all, Jeb is turning Minecraft back into the user-driven, fun game that it was back in alpha. And the transition is amazing.

EDIT:
Okay, so after a while I have found opinions on this thread all over the spectrum of possibilities. Here are the most popular opinions:
Jeb doesn't deserve credit at all, this is Notch's baby.
Jeb helped, but Notch is and was more helpful for Minecraft because he started the project.
Jeb and Notch have contributed to Minecraft equally.
Jeb is better for Minecraft than Notch because he listens to the community.
Jeb is better for Minecraft than Notch because he is a more efficient coder.
Jeb is better than Notch for Minecraft in every way.
It is honestly too early to tell. We should wait an update or two before we jump to conclusions.
Notch was better back in Alpha, but Jeb is better now that Minecraft is in a polish stage.
To help get a better knowledge of public opinion on the topic, I have created a poll in this thread for the aforementioned opinions. Hopefully we will get an interesting statistic on the Hardcore Minecraft community!
I cried a little when I saw the jungles. It's like we are getting what we were supposed to in 1.8 - several months ago...
I just hope the next update is coming soon, the ladders upset quite a bit in the balance of adventure maps and the legit monster spawning would be nice too.
It's funny, because some of the most criticized ideas added to minecraft were in fact Jeb's ideas. People as hypocritical as usual. There is no way to may people happy, truth is that you will be happy while you find some things you like and then angry when you see something you don't. Let's face it, maybe 2 or 3 weeks from now some of you will be making a "this idea is stupid" thread complaining about something Jeb did. Exactly the same thing happened with Notch. Some days he was loved, some days he was hated. People can be quite dumb on that kind of things :/
It's just you. People seem to completely miss the fact that most of what was added prior to Jeb taking the helm were all things that the fan community had demanded. They also seem to miss the fact that the vast majority of what Jeb has added since the launch are things that were originally supposed to be in the Adventure Update, but didn't make the cut due to the deadline. Even if Notch had stayed at the helm, these same updates would have been made since they were already slated to be made.
Of course, since it's not Notch, anymore (even though most of the work prior to launch was done by Jeb, anyway) and the launch has passed, we're all suddenly more patient. Nothing's really changed and topics like this are more pointless than ever.
I think they are equally good coders, but Jeb is better at working on a game. Notch is good during the Alpha stage when you need to get a balls ton of ideas and features crammed in, but Jeb is better when you need more finished, polished things.

Why the hell shouldn't we complain when something is faulty or just flat out stupid? Mojang isn't perfect.
The reason why complaints are limited, is maybe because Mojang isnt taking Minecraft's development as a joke anymore?
Yeah, Notch got everything rolling, but once Jeb was there, the game massively expanded. I remember the first time I ever saw Minecraft, I was fascinated with the whole thing, seeing my friend's base, and his little cactus farm, and that game was great. However, since then, things have changed, and Minecraft as a whole has become a much more expansive game. But without that initial game, we wouldn't have anything. I'm not sure if I'm really going anywhere with this, just felt like adding my two cents.
You gotta remember that all the cool new **** in 1.8, the 1.9 prereleases, and 1.0 were Notch and Jeb working together. There was a LOT of cool stuff in those updates, but it made users less excited because of the long waits, broken update cycle, and weaknesses of the new terrain generator.
Jeb is doing tweaks and polishing, and filling out the full potential of the new terrain system, which was invented under Notch. And you can't forget that there's a new addition or two to Mojang's staff. I'm pretty sure the new pathing for zombies and wolves is not Jeb's work. Probably this Jon guy. I hope he keeps up the good work.
So far, Jeb is definitely not ****ing things up. Better than Notch? Maybe. I'll wait til 1.3 or 1.4 to really decide that.
--Yes, starting a game and upgrading a game are two different things, but they both take their own special touch. I think Jeb is really serious and interested in(or is just downright enjoying the hell out of) adding to the game. I honestly don't know much to anything about Notch and dislike comparing them, but all these snapshots after 1.0.0 only get better every week.
Out of all the hype I think the most lifeless additions were the swamp, the end(the battle is not nearly challenging enough for 100 odd levels), and mushroom biomes.
I find myself looking forward to the updates again. Each one brings new surprises.
they are pretty awesome but they're getting very common now. its only been two updates since 1.0 but i prefered the game-changing mega-updates that took a few weeks to release but were packed with new material rather than these shorter little tweaks and additions.
Jeb isn't lazy, he listens to the community and doesn't just put anything he thinks of, he actually makes good updates. So yes, he is a lot better than Notch.
Thing is, Notch is a good developer. But he's creative enough to create the foundation for a game, but has a short attention span and soon gets uninterested.

Good point, fixed the title.
