The Zombies are too jittery. And mobs that die from fire don't drop items(even if you hit it at least once).
I think the fire thing should be fixed, that could be a bug
As to the jittery thing The only time they are like that to me is when they change their minds when pathfinding, but that isnt that often for me.
Well, the sprinting thing was a joke but, what if they made creepers stand still if they had no path, that way they would be impossible to detect if you don't see them.
I was playing around with laddes to see if zombies would pathfind up ladders. They don't.
Zombies seem to completly ignore ladders although they do seem to be able to climb them. when they approach a wall with a ladder on it, with you at the top of the ladder, they sometimes move up the ladder a bit before dropping to the ground, then standing there looking up at you as they do when there is no path. and I had even less success with vines.
I also tried arranging some ladders in a staircase pattern against the wall to see if the zombie would treat it as a solid block and jump up them but the zombie continued to ignore them.
Conclusion: Zombies do not take ladders into account when pathfinding.
Turns out that while the collision boxes ARE back, they are smaller than they were, so ladders are not QUITE as bad as they once were. And I'm adding the fact that ladders are ignored in pathfinding to the list now.
AI yay there smarter i just wish there was mining zombies... or a zombie apocalypse it only happens on certain days like maybe sky goes dark pink? no green no the grass is green wait i know blue! oh wait it is blue uhm........ purple and only zombies spawn and they have a line of site of 50 and they all come to get you and can dig through blocks but its an option on the game settings before you start and its rare dam i type to much this belongs in suggestions lol anyways i like AI cya people :laugh.gif:
When it comes to cacti, zombies scrape the corner and get damaged once but go around it. That's a huge improvement from just hugging the cactus.
I also noticed that dogs don't teleport to you to protect you when they are sitting like they used to. That used to **** me off.
Wolves also only spawn in taiga from what I see, but that has nothing to do with a.i. lol
Just tested this by placing a giant platform in the sky to make shade, put zombies right outside of it, and they made no attempt to go under the shade. They do NOT actively seek shade during the day.

Damn, got my hopes up. Thanks for testing for me! (At work right now :tongue.gif: )
No problem, and I'm actually a bit disappointed by this too. I put some zombies UNDER the shade and they were fine, then they just walked out in the sun an died.
That would be insane if all the undead mobs went to shade during the day like if they made it the same effect as lava in the zombies a.i.
If they fixed that and water/ladder a.i. then mobs would be very effective.
Yeah, the water thing is a simple bug to fix (as simple as bugs go, at least).. But I don't know If I want zombies to climb ladders.. zombies are clumsy things y'know. If any monster should climb ladders with new pathfinding I think it should be Skeletons.
I personally think that this AI should only be on one harmful mob: Zombies. It gives them a special attribute as opposed to all other harmful mobs. Spiders can climb things. Skeletons have ranged attack. Enderman Teleport. Slimes split into smaller slimes when hit. creepers blow up. Zombies? They punch you.
I think that will make zombies more interesting. I don't want any other mobs to have this though. At least not this advanced pathfinding.

Haha a pac-man style game would be awesome. Can't wait for somebody to make a series of them in one challenge map!
hope this means the AI of other mobs is improved too (creepers, pigs/cows/chickens/ VILLAGERS)
The possibilities ............
This should get interesting.
I'd love a map download when you're finished. Don't forget to make 3d mazes, and add in some pressure plates.

I'll try! As soon as I figure out how to do that lol. Never uploaded a map before, there's a first time for everything!
He jumped up to a 1 block VERTICAL to the one he was standing on, clever, I did not see that coming at all.
Little bugger is trying to cheat on my maze...
