I heard of super flat world mode and got excited. Until I realized some problems. Just a few but if anybody else has any, fire away.
The first problem is slimes. Slimes WILL spawn at the layer that super flat mode takes place in. This might be a problem for builders. I know that there is peaceful mode but what if we want the hostile creatures in a zoo? Yet we would have some slimes roaming the streets.
Also another thing about the height limit is that because it is so low, we can't make anything under ground. This includes subways, basements, underground forts etc. I remember Fortresscraft having the same problem. It's fixed in a recent patch (can choose height of world in flat land mode) but I think Minecraft needs a similar fix.
My third and final problem is that there are still NPC villages. It is annoying when you have to get rid of an NPC village wile working on something.

Oh wait! There is!
for your third problem, you can turn off NPC villages by clicking on "more world options" when creating a new world, and turn off "Generate Structures"
I'd like to see this world option get a toggle of some kind for this. Perhaps something like "superflat-bedrock" vs "superflat-sea level" or something like that (the latter would have the world be 64 dirt blocks deep, as opposed to 5, and you'd be well above slime level).
