Hello fellow minecraft players.
Does anyone else think the golden apple is WAY to easy to make now? When I heard about this change coming I thought you would at least need 8 gold ingots. but really? 8 gold nuggets? that means you only need to find 1 gold ingot and 1 apple (that now fall from trees).
Also, it suckes from the people (including me) who crafted a golden apple the old fashion way with a 8 gold blocks and an apple from a stronghold. The golden apple used to be a trophie to show your work, but now its worthless..
but hey, maybe its just personal for me since I made one before it was really easy.
It's worthless because it will become a new common food source for battle (2 hearts of regen and 2 hunger) instead of some object that I forget about in a chest? What?
I liked it when it was pointless and how no one actually bragged about having one, they just let it sit in a chest and felt achieved only to themselves and for some reason never let anyone know they obtained one of the rarest items in the game. But oh well, now we got something useful, well crap!

Certainly would have enjoyed it to be only the same as a regeneration potion that gave you some hunger [Well, filled the hunger bar a bit] but lasted a bit of a shorter amount of time [Like ten seconds].
But . . . @_@ I guess this level of nerfing sorta needed it to be nerfed in usage too.
But it amazes me how golden apples went from amazingly great and useful and god-like to cannon-fodder.
With the change to only restore 2 hunger, and the meger four seconds of health regen; the item is finally part of the 'usable' category. I have had a golden apple from a dungeon sitting in a storage chest for ages... doing nothing for me.
Now; I can actually use one if I want, or it can remain in the box. Its an additional choice, which is a good thing.
The change in expense is also a necessity because of the new availability and reduced power of the item.
Also if looked at from a server economy standpoint; it gives more use for gold then just large rail projects. A farmer / lumberjack has an additional item to bring in. Heck; I had to update a price list because our miner and farmer pooled resources to craft twenty of the little things just hours after the patch.
Getting a little long winded; but my point is I personally favor the change. To each their own.
