Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but it seemed most relevant. the last (latest) version of optifine doesnt work with 1.1 , does anyone know when there will be an update? and if there is already one where can i find it?
EVERY new patch mods have to be updated. EVERY TIME.. EVERY MOD.
Of course it's not out yet. The patch has been live for less than a day.
I wish you guys would actually learn how this stuff works instead of such unreasonable expectations. Yes, you'll have to wait for it to upgrade. Yes, it may take a day or two..
This is why people who use mods usually wait a day or two after an upgrade before rushing to update it. They understand the procedure.
I don't understand anyone who blindly tried applying 1.0 mods on this update. It will not work.

reguardless of the fact he was overalyl offencive to the issue, its kinda touchy around here. alot of us have been playing since the dawn of mobs, and these issues have always exsisted, come patch time the forums flood with people who ask teh same two questions in 100 diffrent threads.
generally the popular mods like bukkit are up quickly after update, i assume optifine which is growing in use will be too.
its genereally best to NOT update to the next version until the mods/servers you run on have an update, to prevent this in the future.
there is a program out there which willd owngrade your version if you need to do so, but the name excapes me atm.
Welcome to why updates suck as much as they're fun for some people in Minecraft.
Until there's ever a real modding framework, every mod you have will break with each update. You will need to wait for the mod to update to use it again, then reinstall.

New or not, it's general thinking.
This mod says "[Modname] 1.0!" Perhaps it might work in 1.1... *checks to see* "Nope, it didn't. Oh well, I'll wait." END
