In the time before memory, before the endermen came, before potions and silk touch, before pistons could sticky, before herobrine was a meme, and yes, before even creepers made a ssssssssound, there existed nothing. The Great One was not pleased by this lack of everything, and in his brilliance, brought forth a small, simple world. In this world, he created dirt and stone, water and lava, light and shadow, and brought forth into this world trees. These trees were lonely, though, and desperately needed to be punched. Thus the Great One, in his benevolence and wisdom, created in his imagine the man named Steve, and gave him a powerful urge to punch trees. And for a time, Steve the Treepuncher was happy, and the Great One was amused.
Soon, though, the Great One grew bored of watching Steve punch trees, and gave him other toys and tools. He added new types of rocks to his world, and bestowed upon Steve the knowledge of "Crafting" and "Smelting." And lo, He said unto Steve, "I am the Great Notch, creator of thy world, and He who hath given thee life and trees to punch, Steve. I ask that thee now use thy newfound knowledge to explore and create! Build a world that it may entertain me, my child!" and lo did Steve respond "lol, k." And for a time, it was good. Indeed it was that every so often, in his benevolence, the Great Notch would bestow upon Steve some new form of knowledge, for his own amusement, and so was Steve happy to amuse him, as he had nothing better to do.
Then, one day, Steve asked a question of the Great Notch that would forever change his life. Staring up at the sky, lo did he utter the faithful words, "U no, just digging and buildin crap is kinda boring, Notch... It's pretty lonely 2."
Hearing these words sparked something inside of the Great Notch; a soft, subtle annoyance. Thus did He tell Steve, with a wild grin upon his face, "Thy finds thyself lonesome and bored? Is my world not enough? Then perhaps conflict would keep thy attention!" and thus did the Great Notch cause the invasion of Zombies, Skeletons and Spiders. Soon, in a fit of inspired evil, He would introduce Steve to His true masterpiece, the Creeper.
And lo, did Steve tremble in fear, and did learn to create weapons and armor to defend himself. Soon it was that Steve had become a battle hardened architect, embittered by the apparent loss of his beloved Notch. Day after day, Steve would pause between digging and fighting to shake his fist at the sky and spew forth profanities at his once beloved creator.
Eventually it came to pass that Steve learned to enjoy his new life, but never did he forget his feelings of hatred for the Great Notch, and never did the Great Notch forget about Steve; always watching over him, chuckling in amusement at Steve's struggles. However, in time, the Great Notch did grow tired of this world, and sought to do other things. He knew, however, that Steve could not be trusted to his own devices, so He chose from his peers a successor to follow His work.
Thus, the day came that the Great Notch again called out to Steve, and lo did He spake "I have grown bored of this world, and need to find entertainment elsewhere for some time, Steve. However, I know thy need for a greater figure to guide thee, so I have entrusted thy care unto my sonfriend. He is now thy Lord Jeb, and He shall guide thee." And lo' did Jeb descend from the realm of Mojang, where the Great Notch resided, and He did shine forth with a clock-lock radiance and so did He warm Steve's heart with the subtle aroma of Ginger. Steve saw in the Lord Jeb a hope for a new, better future, and fell to his knees, weeping tears of joy.
Thus began the current age, the Age of Jeb.
