I'd like to see mob intelligence based on the difficulty, so the people looking to be challenged by enemies can throw their game on hard and have some fun, and the people who, for whatever reason, prefer the current hostility AI, can keep fighting them that way. (Passive mobs not applied, obviously. Everybody needs a more self-aware wolf, of course.)
Easy - Dumb enemies
Normal - Somewhat competent enemies
Hard - YOU GON' DIE, BRO! Smartest enemies, expect death.
I'd really love to see mobs that will learn to avoid dangers like cacti and fire. Agressive mobs that can recognise and use doors, ladders, boats, levers, etc., actively would also be nice.
This would be a improvement all itself, I cant count the number of times I've abused their AI down in mineshafts simply because they cant walk around a corner.
-Babies animals wont be followed by parents after growth. It's so weird seeing groups of animals clinging to each other.
-zombies that will break through wooden doors and glass panes to get you would be cool.
hmm...them seeing through glass would present a aggravating problem. But a fence on your property to keep them out in the first place would fix it. So good idea nonetheless.
Yeah, i dont want mobs to get too smart or else mob grinders would have to be redone from scratch. I agree with Wolves though, they should know the difference between a hill and a cliff. Zombie are fine just the way they are, Skeletons should keep their distance and not move in since thats what they are supposed to do, Endermen could maybe teleport you in the sky and let you take fall damage, and yes, i would like those squidward-looking villagers to get a brain
Another one nobody's thought of; the enderdragon actually trying to kill you at all!
And like people have said, monster AI so they work together to try and kill you.

No, there has never, ever been a sandbox game with a story or ending... except Grand Theft Auto... and Saints Row... and Red Dead Redemption... and Crack Down... and Assassins Creed...
You see, AI coding is a huge challenge.
Specially when you're making it through scratch.
First you'll need to code a Visiblity Detection, then a Path Finding detection that will work on All 3 (XYZ) Dimensions and will allow it to find the shortest path through the terrain, to the target object.
This will mean every tree, every jump, every fence, every obstacle etc.
Not many games have such a beat AI system, mostly it's scripted paths they follow till they follow you.
This game is more dynamic, the terrain WILL change at any time and it is very complicated for the programmer to code a dynamic AI system.
The map generation will cause dozens of problems when trying to code a magnificent AI system.
I also admit that Notch could or should have done a better job with the AI, but with the dynamic map generation and randomness of the world itself, it is extremely hard as it is.
I'm hoping that fixing mob hitboxes in SMP are high on the list.
Mobs tendency to sit tight and not wander unless your close by was an unwelcome change designed to nerf mob farms.
Maybe Mojang can consider rethinking that as well?
I'm really looking forward to a proposal Notch had a long time ago, zombie siege mode. Maybe it would be a bit like survival, but much, much smarter zombies that don't despawn in the sunlight, and actively seek out areas with players in it. Maybe they could break through wood and cobble given time, and your best response is just to fill up the holes before they get through.
that skeleton thing is not good if they act like that all the time...try to complete the achievement where you have to kill a skeleton from 50 meters with a bow :biggrin.gif:
It wouldn't matter at this point anyway; that achievement is broken.
I'd love to see zombies with a horde mentality, as well as zombies that will dig through walls if they can't path to you. This would encourage people to make long entry hallways instead of just walls.
I would also love to see villages that actually grow and expand on their own. Villagers should mine, chop trees, and whatnot to gather resources to build more houses and to make tools.

Only if they derp off storm peak during PvP XD
Where's your god now?
Remember kids, when the mod crashes delete system32!
