I don't think the end credits should be there because the reason is Minecraft has always been thought of a different game because it NEVER ends so I don't think it fitting for this game since this game is a sandbox not adventure or saga or RPG it should be WITHOUT CREDITS I SAY WITHOUT! + = :sad.gif:
OT:
I don't really feel like it should or shouldn't be in the game. So it's like Minecraft ending? :biggrin.gif: Intresting process beating the dragon.
I would have liked acut scene were you see your character, how ever he may look, and he then spawns after going though the portal thing. Once he spawns he walks away and there is a black screen that says something like ten years later. It then shows yourself in a nice home in a village and your charter looks older (somehow) and has a family or something.
Or something better that allows you to continue on your world. My scenario implies the game is completely over, which is bad. But I did NOT like that super long story at the end.
That was an amazing conversation those sprits had. I liked their story. I had skipped the credits reel because it was slow when I defeated the dragon earlier so I just read the text document the story comes from.
I agree with the post about it ruining the feel. And not the "Sandbox no ending feel" mind you.
I'm talking about the lore and such, the pigmen, the mines, the unrealistic things we could do; they're all just now answered as just strange parts of our "Dream". There is something remotely concrete as to who we are, where we're from, what we're doing, etc. that dent the mystery of it all.
We've enjoyed our free-floating, but someone has tied our balloon down.

The ending! The End, Endermen, and Enderdragons! I think the ending! Oh sometimes I wonder if Notch will ever STOP making the game longer, and... I don't wonder anymore...
The ending was long, boring, creepy (expecially the part at the end that said; "wake up"), and I think (hope), make sure of (excessive laughter at the end of this sentence, please) that Notch will not make the end The End, which will make the end literally the end!!! Besides, when I said creepy, I meant only the wake up part... I'm sure that has nothing to do with this, but I wanted to edit as this just to make sure nobody would reply to one sentence of mine and say: Well games mostly always have endings, so get over it. No. I edit it so that DOESN'T happen. :smile.gif:

THANKS ALOT NOTCH! I HAVEN'T BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ENDING OF MINECRAFT, OF... Minecraftians...
NetherToOverworld
Btw... Why the ending of an endless game? The ending is not in a sandbox game. Take Terraria, and split it in half. Then take Minecraft and do the same! Put them together, you got the ending of BOTH! Minecraft pictures, cobble, diamond... EVERYTHING! :angry.gif:
It isn't the end. I know this has been said before, but you can keep playing. And hell, it says to start again at the end. I'm not even sure why it's called the ending.
The whole thing reeks of some kid writing a fanfic with the though process of:
"dood omg what if the game leik....wasnt really a game and like.....its life but its like your life is a game and then the universe itself talks to u b cuz you like....won life u kno? and it tells you that theres this other level of leik.....consissiousness or whatever and u cant understand some of the stuff they say because you arent high enough level, and leik....they say that you are the universe too but leik you think ur not but you are because we see things with science and stuff but these two guys that arent guys that are the universe never change and they say that you dont either and then you wake up.....yeah....damn im deep!"
....it's not deep. It's an amalgamation of overdone literature tropes and bad movie twists in a text dump aimed toward a character that has had no internal or external character development to even have a reaction to "the universe" spontaneously speaking to it in a dialogue. The two "characters" that speak to you aren't even established in any format, they aren't alluded to, developed at all, nor is the nature of this "universe" alluded to in any manner for either the character (meaning the non-character you play) or you the player for any of what is... I guess "revealed" is the term, to have any sort of weight or cause any sort of revelation in either the character or player.
This is a huge wall of text that is essentially trying to provide reasoning in minecraft, which doesn't need any reasoning. I'm getting tired of Notch trying to make minecraft into a "more legit" game than it started as, because it was "more legit" when it didn't have half-hearted RPG mechanics that push you into a really rudimentary unskilled combat system and an "ending" to a plot the game neither has nor needs to be good.
I love how Notch adds one simple little update to the game. And suddenly we have a full scale debate of Nihilism vs Existentialism, and the likes. It's absolutely remarkable.
And for anyone saying it was poorly written, get your heads out of your ass.

As for anyone saying it's well written, give me a reason instead of a childish personal attack. And you're trivializing this, this would be the same move as giving Gordon Freeman a voice or re-booting the entire Megaman series with "...But that was all a dream". It's poor storytelling, and a clashing contrast as to how the game has been seen and played up to this point.
I thought the ending dialogue was a bit long and it kind of made me feel sad. It was like "Wow, the game's over. What do I do now?". BUT THE GAME ISN'T RELEASED YET! :biggrin.gif: lol
Something I noticed after you respawn is that if you get close to any mob, they seem to avoid you, and don't attack you. Not sure if this is supposed to happen or not.
Ok, I think the two people at the end are Herobrine and the Creeper. After all, the last words are "Wake Up" which is a definite part of the Herobrine mythos, and throughout the entire thing the other person repeats the word "Shush" which might be what a creeper always says. Also the two people are blue and green, both colors I associate with the Creepers and Herobrine.
Man I really don't think so. Why would he hire some guy to do a really long story if it's just trolling?

I'm sure he just wrote it when he was bored on his lunch break one day.
Please be trolling us Notch! PLEEEEAAAASE!

It also brings me back to the old herobrine creepypasta.
Remember: cannibalism is always an option.
