Silk Touch is an enchantment you apply to tools, allowing you to harvest certain blocks.
Coal ore, redstone ore, lapis ore, diamond ore, grass, ice, huge mushroom blocks...

Do you mean that with this enchantment you can get the actual block and not the ore?

And since it's wired into the code, you can actually smelt diamond ore
I was actually looking for something like this!
Can you do the same for the other stuff? Cause my pick axe is sick!
Unbreakable III, Efficiency III, Silk Touch I, Fortune II (kinda pointless with the ST though :tongue.gif:) On a diamond pick :biggrin.gif: (cheaty face :dry.gif: )
This stat comes on Axes, Pickaxes, and Shovels btw. Helps collect a ton of unobtainable items like the Silverfish block and Mycelium and also helps collect things again, like Bookcases, Glass, and Stone.
This is soooo gonna get nerfed. Either it won't work on Ice or Ice will despawn in the Nether and I doubt you will be able to take mob spawners.

ALSO: I got 126 uses out of a gold Efficiency IV, Unbreakable III pick. Not bad

Hehe i was planning to do the exact same thing, except im not gonna do a whole floor only a carpet type.
Edit: Also, if anything is an ore, it's smelt-able.
It does, I tested it hours ago ^^.
You should carry a Fortune III with you while using this, in case you want real drops.
Wiki says yes, trying to find a blaze spawner to test it.
Also, Trolling the Nether!
Can't dump a bucket in the nether, but you can place ice and break it :biggrin.gif:
I love silk touch.
Quite a good trap ;D.
