Dude, I'm just going to say it: I applaud how you play the game. On a whim after reading about some muslim guy who won't eat the in-game pork I adopted that approach too. I like this also and will explore it more: endermen are safe from me, provided that they don't attack me first or otherwise give me provocation (the minecart tragedy comes to mind.)
In fact, I think that it is prudent to gain greater understanding on these mysterious peoples. They must be studied. While I really want to explore this new realm, I must now be patient and collect up the pearls I find from the lost endermen who failed to survive in this world. If ultimately I am alone in this world, when I have sufficient pearls to make the journey I will bring whatever supplies are prudent so that I can make a home for myself in their world. Maybe by that time we will have enough of an understanding of each other that true peace can be achieved.
I think that Endermen were unintentionally released into the real world from strongholds, but from what youve said, endermen are smart enough to pick up blocks... but ehy dont seem...intelligent. They dont BUILD things out of them. But, I try to avoid a fight when i can, youl find ender pearls after it rains.

'cos otherwise, I'm dead.
I'd consider that a threat. At least Zombie Pigmen are pretty chill, and they watch out for each other.
