OK so I've been reading that folks say there is no way out of the "End" except to die.. Seems rather pointless to have Experience gain there then if your just going to loose everything when you die.. unless its not "true Death" and just a means to return home. If its a real Death then there is even less reason to go there then the Nether. At least now the Nether has the potion ingredients and the Blaze rods. I suppose the stuff from the Ghasts for the Ender Eyes will be nice too. Ok so there is some reason for the Nether now..
Speaking of the Nether. I have not seen anyone speculate on weather or not you might be able to build a Nether portal IN the Ender and get home via a Nether portal back to the Real world.. (may be my lack of "Search-foo" skills) where you come out would be rather Random I expect and you would have to build 2 portals (one in the End and another in the Nether) to get home.. and it would be one way, since you still need the Gate to the Ender to go there.. but at least it would be a "safe" way "home".
