Hmmmm not sure I'm super keen on the new brewing system, I'm not hating it but I'm certainly not loving it.
Glad the cauldron is still in the game I hope it gets some more uses added to it than just a container for water.
Maybe a convenient stew pot or something or a dye vat or both?
Thanks for updating the potions & distillation info :smile.gif:
I know what they'll think, they'll think, **** this kid's lazy, look at all these other videos where you can actually see what they're talking about.
I don't see the reason for replying to that comment. Well, you abviously have never made a video before so let's see you make one before YOU judge ME. Enough has been said!

Yeah, but I'm certainly liking this method than the original Prerelease 2 one.

oh now DYES that's good, we should be able to dye our leather!
also, it helps make sinks, we've been wanting sinks forever(well, some of us x])

that's exactly my point, I have never made one, I don't appreciate how long it takes you to convert it and don't give a ****, why make a video that doesn't show the vital feature it proclaims to be about?
They already have the cauldron and cauldron brewing system, why not just let the player pick between cauldron and brewing stand on their own and have both as options?

they function very differently, I'm not saying that's bad, I actually think it's a neat idea myself, but I think having two systems that do the same thing isn't something Notch would approve of.
I DO like how potions take time to distill now, but put something like that in the old system and I'd like it more x]
I'm not sure what you guys are talking about but that's the most retarded argument you could ever use. Ever.
Not really because it supports my point, as someone who has never uploaded a video to youtube I don't give a **** about the details, I care about the final outcome, which was substandard.
You guys should really learn to get along. Anyway I'm not gonna post any of those three videos, for various reasons, no offense. One has been like jam-posted in every thread on the forum and people seem to sort of dislike that. Second one uses a texture pack so that must incredibly confuse people wondering what the random pink thing is, hehe. The other one doesn't have sound, though I'm considering that one the most. It's not that I'm against no sound, but, it has no real annotation or onscreen text or anything either.
If anyone wants to recommend any other feel free to link or something though.
thanks for the feedback, when more is discovered I'll make a better one I threw this one together bc I realized the confusion in the community and wanted to put out something quick that could be of some help =]
Invisibility was broken before, the potion effects in the current release seem very limited, I don't think it's possible to get nausea, invisibility or any of those anymore, unfortunately. It is unforeseen whether they will be available again in the future.
Some advice for brewing, always start with nether wart unless you want a weakness potion (in that case simply throw a distilled spider eye in). In all cases adding a secondary ingredient to nether wart(technically awkward potion)will result in a positive potion (except for spider eye). After that if you add a distilled spider eye you will turn the positive postion into a negative (in the case of poison which is made from spider eye it makes the potion more negative). Adding glowdust will increase positive effects and decrese negative effects while redstone will increase negative effects and decrease positive ones (with the exception of poison and harmful potions in which the roles are reversed). So a good strategy when making potions is to start with nether wart, add a secondary ingredient based on desired effect, if you want to make a negative potion add a distilled spider eye, and finally add glow dust or redstone based on how strong you want the potion.

Can those missing potions still be found in the code? There were some great ideas in there.
not that I am opposed to speculation/ideas talk, personally one could assume he's going to add at least potions up to the 6 ingredient limit, do you think cauldrons are going to be used in potions at all or just sinks? I'd hope they could server -some- part of potions making, or boiling food maybe, making soup/stew with mushrooms? mmmm add in some wheat for dumplings xD

Enjoy!
Added your video to the front post, not the best in the world but pretty good! Also, the golden apples were changed in pre-2, hehe.
that's the one I would have gone with.

there's like 10 potions now...
it's not very interesting x]
Really there are not a whole lot to make.
