Anyone else thinking YAY Poison tipped Arrows/Swords ^^
Also looks like an awesome system, Too much in MC seems to be too simple. Anyhow from the benefits that they give they shouldn't really be all that easy to make.
Haha I've played around with those effects. I gave myself a speed buff with an 11 amplitude and tried sprinting. Your FOV gets pushed so far the world turns upside down. You can do the same with jump and at about amplitude 18 you jump so high you die landing.
LOL can you run fast enough around the world to not just make it go upside down but back in time xD
and how many blocks does an 18 jump get you, like 10?
I'm pretty sure I've tried every block, only water works for filling, milk and lava and such don't. They might add more items later but I'll run through the list again once more just in case.
EDIT: Gave every item on the creative list a try, none worked besides those already listed, unfortunately!
Okay, thanks for the quick reply. Eight ingredients are enough for me,
honestly, though I hoped gold nuggets would become useful.
One thing that concerns me: Magma cream requires slimeballs to craft.
Slimeballs are very rare, rarer than diamonds, in my experience.
I'd prefer it if magma cream dropped from Magma Cubes.
I had like 5 things I wanted to ask but my brain's on overload with how awesome this seems lol I forget...
There will need to be -super- endgame content now, I'd imagine with a strength of 3 you'd be able to one shot many mobs with next to or literally nothing.
Maybe that's going to be the case, soon? Or Slimes become more common, also an option.
Remember, this is a pre-release. A beta of a beta.
I'd actually prefer both options.
--@Dark Link, I'd love this too, you could have poisoned food but also buff food, Idk if there's a satisfied potion effect(looks not, could be added) yet but you could make a food that doesn't allow you to get hungry for days.
waybread ftw x]
With the NBT item system, this is a possibility and can easily be added, and probably will be added.
EDIT: @renadi, well there ARE going to be bosses and stuff I'm pretty sure. These potions are possibly in preparation for that.
haha they'd have to be pretty intense, and I'd really like the stronger potions to be nowhere near needed to actually "beat" the game, whatever the win condition is I imagine it'd be some kind of boss, I'd like something even stronger yet to test those who master potions and skills xD
Also, what does NBT stand for, I have a feeling it's not net before taxes lol
Add leveling and Skills to that and you could as well just play creative. I wonder what the two remaining major features are.
That's why we need some seriously heavy competition!
and named mobs, prefix mobs, Notch said the idea intrigued him so long ago lol I'd like to see armored zombies and skeletons start spawning again, except have the armor do something.
I would like to know, are the potions colored with a specific texture, or are they colored with a template, similar to biome coloration? I'm assuming the latter, and that potions in cauldrons behave similarly.
From what I can tell it just recolors the water texture, If you look at the OP screenshots they all have the same texture really, just different colors/shading, most likely works on the same principle as the swamp water coloring.
This is of course just a guess, I'm not really looking at the code at the moment.

Or if you don't want to post the code, could you at least post the names of the class files that need editing?
26 block jump height!
And yes, after I stopped running I found my calendar said November 5, 1955.

But as a base idea, I like it. Can't wait to see where this ends up going.

Additionally, cave spiders, silverfish and Blazes are tough on their own.
Maybe they're attempting to make the game a bit harder, in preparation for potions and skills?
