tl;dr: mojang stop adding crap to the game, don't call this full and fix the bugs and polish what you already have
To me, Minecraft has never really been a stable name no matter how many updates Mojang pushes out for it. Even with the recent release of the full version of Minecraft, Minecraft still has a plethora of bugs, a bunch of features yet not implemented and a general gameplay experience that feels unbalanced and lazily done. Many of the key issues of Minecraft have yet to be addressed and have been put aside to add features that the fanbase has been demanding for months. Villages have yet to have life and purpose added to them, vanilla servers are still being griefed even with the lousy implementation of whitelists and a lot of small nitpicks such as lack of diverse animation for simple things such as swimming, climbing ladders or being damaged. I hardly classify the release of Minecraft 1.0 as complete, but rather it feels like history is repeating itself when we went from alpha to beta. Everybody thought we'd have this near perfect game that we wouldn't have to fix with third party mods, which have been a nuisance to maintain because of a lack of the promised Mod API that Notch simply forgot about, but instead we're given more bugs, a bunch of unpolished features and no optimisations or fixes.
I believe releasing Minecraft 1.0 as "full" was a mistake. Mojang shouldn't release the full version of a game and then shortly after release a patch to fix something broken because of some badly managed code. Instead of Minecraft being released as a polished game the devs can sit back in their chairs, look at and think "a job well done", they're typing away at their computers (or having business meetings in the local cafe) trying to fix everything they left over. Don't get me wrong, I still love Minecraft for what it is, but this isn't a full game. To me, this update feels like it was pushed out for nothing but the money and for the label of being complete; a sort of false impression that the game has reached a significant point to compensate for months of issues and standstills.
So, anyone else share this opinion of mine? Completely disagree with it? Feel like dissecting my points line by line to defend the game?
