So, I like to use [ code ] tags, especially when I post in the mods and mods development section. I also like to use spoiler tags to make my posts look tidier and take up less space on the page.
However, spoiler tags seem to completely destroy all ability to specially format text. If you use a spoiler, you can't align text within the spoiler, and you can't use the code box within the spoiler.
Ideally, we should have just as much control over what goes into a spoiler tag as what goes into the rest of the post. They are extremely useful in making very long and content-filled posts much tidier and more navigable, and being unable to do simple things like hiding code boxes (which are big and messy) is a big letdown.
Then code tags themselves... man... is there some hope of the text coloration being reintroduced? Perhaps also the whole "what you type is what you get" thing working within the code tags? The first problem is that indenting is lost => if you put spaces at the start of lines, they are simply trimmed away and lost, making code into a very solid and messy slab of text. The second problem, the lack of coloration, only compounds with the first issue, and resulting code snippets can easily become borderline illegible within the forum's code boxes.
Ideally, everything within the code tags would be put into the code box as is, and then use a coloring algorithm to make things the right color. Fail that, at the very least it should be possible to freely indent code, and maybe like... automatically colorize any line of text starting with "//".

Thank you for the feedback. I've made a note regarding spoiler text formatting and the problems with code, and also adding syntax highlighting to code tags. We're going to be upgrading the editor very soon that should resolve the majority of the editor related problems, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience in the mean time!
