Climbing a tree with two swords was surprisingly difficult, but Larkus did not falter. He could not. Day was still minutes away. The ability to speak was incredibly rare ability to retain for undead, at least as rare as riding skill (Spider Jockeys), but of course, this skeleton had it, and taunted him with insults and the occasional intentional near-miss from it's crossbow.
Upon reaching the top of the tree, he had lost sight of the skeleton, and realized only seconds before a 5-foot long explosive bolt nearly rammed into his temples. A short distance behind him, a tree exploded into a fireball, catching most of the nearby trees. Including the one he was on.He quickly jumped to the skeleton's new position, on top of a pine tree, probably the safest tree to be on top of in the middle of a forest fire. Larkus, tired of climbing the ridiculously tall trees of this forest, simply took a running jump at the skeleton, and thrust both blades into its ribcage.
If only it had vital organs. The skeleton, despite losing a pair of ribs, was unfazed, and took out a dirk, using it and the massive crossbow as a sword and club. He, however had left the swords embedded in the skeleton, and couldn't dislodge them. Unless...Larkus grabbed the swords and forced them inward, slicing the skeletons spinal cord, and it, in half. The thing was helpless as Larkus smashed its brittle, already-cracked skull to bonemeal with the metal crossbow. At this point, Larkus would've normally taken his time to search through the Elite's possessions ( As they maintained some sense of self-direction, elites would often collect various baubles and decorations from felled targets). But the forest was currently on fire. So instead, he quickly wrapped up the skeletons possessions up in its tattered purple robes and jumped off the tree, nearly breaking his knee-caps. It didn't matter. He was alive.
(Note: at this point, there's a huge forest fire going on at night, if someone's gonna find me, its gonna be now, I don't care if it's Gage, Lanneus and Andy, Soma, just somebody.... It'll be boring if it's me quite frankly )
Larkus woke up in a strange room. When had he fallen asleep? Must have been smoke inhalation. But doesn't -oh, that's right, the skeleton. Whoever had rescued him had at least had the decency to leave him his belongings, minus the stone swords. No matter. He looked through the skeleton's possessions... Some sort of red powder in a vial, an apple, several different crossbow bolts, a small crystal, and a dagger with strangely decorated hilt. And some chain-mail.
He quickly put on the chain-mail vest, and put the crossbow on his back, and stored the rest in his robes. The apple, he ate, giving him enough strength to walk normally. His mask was still damaged, but nobody seemed to be around. He took it off, and pulled his hood down to cover most of his face.
The room he was in was quite spacious, for the small amount of furniture in it. The smell of salt was coming in from the windows. An island... He turned to the door, and saw it was open. "So they won't mind my leaving then?" He thought aloud. He walked out, into a courtyard, and noticed a large tower. Upon climbing to the top, he found a telescope. Looking through it, he could see the now-dead forest, still smoldering in places. Not too far... And what was that? He saw a group fighting in the forest's clearing. One was dressed like a simple peasant, and the other was dressed like a cultist. Wait, cultist? Perhaps he could reach them before the cultist had chopped the peasant into a bloody mess. He jumped off the tower, into the ocean, and started swimming toward the burned forest...

Other/bio: About 3000 years ago, a strange meteor fell upon The Lost World. It impacted in a small valley at high speeds, creating a large explosion, defacing the valley, and wiped it of all life. It created a large amount of ash and dust. Over time, this ash and dust along with many other factors have settled and buried the metor ruins deep underground. The comet wasn't alone. Aboard the comet was an organic vessel. It adapted to the moist, warm air. The slimy, tentacled, bulbous-like mouth organism produced sulfuric energies. Several hundred years past, and it had gained the ability to speak, to see, and to reproduce host offspring. These host offspring could be controlled at anytime by the Hivemind, and it could see through the eyes of the offspring. If the offspring were to die, the secrets of the Hivemind would be revealed. The simple option is to use the main function of the offspring: combustion. The Hivemind found a way to the surface, and directed its children there. Working alongside the undead, the offspring, dubbed Creepers by surface-dwellers, can be turned into mobile Hive nodes, which can reproduce but not control. Two nodes exist. The Hivemind's goal is to find a golden apple, the key to the Hivemind's evolution to its final power -- mobility.

(Why is everyone heading towards me? Btw Side there's three of us.)
(Because you're the only person doing anything :tongue.gif: , and Larkus only noticed the two of you because they were doing something, whether Soma is just standing there dumbfounded or something, I don't know. I'm just assuming he's gone out of sight for the sake of brevity.)
I am Desmond, I seek the hero Gage, but come with me to by base at the island, there is another person there and my green friend Nage.
[[lol does this mean i am some sort of fabled hero of the lost world or something? I've only just warped here eight nights ago]]
Gage rose slowly to the cluck of the chickens and the moo of the cows, rubbing the soreness from his neck. The first thing he notices was an insatiable thirst, and, by walking out of his small hut, he fixed the problem by bending over the cool pool of water and taking several long gulps. Food. That was the next thought that popped into Gage's head as his stomach growled. He had not eaten anything but fire roasted pork, and that was three nights ago.
As he scanned the small field, a red glint caught Gage's eye. Up in a near by tree, three plump, juicy red apples strained hung; the branches straining under their weight. Gage immediately walked to the tree, and considered punching the trunk, but decided against it. I've got enough wood....i just need the apples....the stick! Gage ran back into his hut, and emerged carrying the thick, two foot branch he had left over after the construction of his house. After a moment consideration, he threw the piece of wood, striking two of the apples, causing them to fall.
He caught one, and bit into it immediately, closing his eyes to the gloriously sweet meal. Juice exploded from the fruit and into his mouth and onto his face, dripping from his lips. Sweet sweet fruit. Energy flooded into his limbs and mind, and he bent down to pick up the other one with a mouthful of apple. Still one up there, he thought, putting the other apple at his feet, and throwing the stick into the tree again, striking the third fruit and causing it to fall. Gage snickered with satisfaction, and carried his food back to his hut, savoring every bite of his breakfast.
Gage rose slowly to the cluck of the chickens and the moo of blah blah blah blah....
(So, when is Gage going to do something of real importance? No offense intended but while I, Soma, Desmond, and Shadow are already engaged in the main storyline, if you will, Gage is alone, with nothing but a wooden shack, just trying to survive. Sorry, but hardly an epic story :tongue.gif: .)

Looking back I see a forest fire, and I could faintly see a figure in the woods, I must save him!
I took some water and ran throught the burning woods, put out the fire beside him and quickly carried him back to the island.
