I've been thinking about writing a sub-series (Secrets of the Portal, The Survival Shorts) called The Survival Chronicles: Origins which dedicates each chapter to a character in the story.
I've decided to give TSC a new name. From the story created, I will rewrite the entire story using the same plot, but I will undoubtedly change the order around. When I complete the forth in the series (Nether Tied Rampage), I'm going to start the complete overhaul. If I'm lucky, the story will be completed before the end of January 2012. Keep in mind that all four of the stories combined will still be a short story. I will most likely double (or even triple) it's size by the time November rolls around.
Once everything is mapped out compressed, extended, edited, and preread, I will begin writing the actual book. Once the final draft is done, I'll submit it to a publisher. The book will be a dedication to Mojang, and most importantly, all of my supporters. I think I currently have 7-8 supporters, hopefully I'll have more by the end of 2011.
Before any of this can be done, I need a new name for my story. Something that would relate to the way the story is written and pertaining to nature and human will. Any suggestions?
I don't have many good ideas for the titles of stories. Usually I take something that's important, then use it as the title, for example, stars are important in Full of Stars, and so is the mysterious Striking Heart organization (for the novel "Striking Heart").
I would buy a book. Definately, but I'm not sure about how publishing books that have a fan fiction flavor goes. I know Mojang isn't really concerned about it though, and technically,Herobrine isn't part of Minecraft. I would change some terms around, but go for it! Definately go for it!

Alright, I'm not having much luck with finding a name... Okay, I'm not having ANY luck...
Anyways, I don't know if I will continue on to Nether Tied Rampage. I think I'll finish Fate of the Risen, and rewrite the whole series. I'm going to change a lot of things around, including Herobrine's implementation, it's clear that he must be removed from the story. I was feeling iffy when I decided to use Herobrine, I thought it may appeal to new players... Then I realized no new player reads this story...
I'm going to change some of these major things, which contains spoilers:
Vessels can be killed by things other than their direct counterpart (Vice versa)
Vessels and Counterparts likely to be renamed
ALL of the names will be changed (Besides Faceless, Dylax, and Khux), I want no direct ties to the forums when the book is released
I will likely kill people off at a much steadier pace
It may (or may not) be in second person view
The book won't begin with a quest for a name... That's just stupid...
More subtle changes
Now for some more pleasant news, I'm going to start writing again very soon. By soon, I mean tomorrow or the next day. Keep in mind that the crap I put up with this past month has knocked back all of my projects. Oh, and here's a little spoiler for the book.
Book #1 will be named 'Fayne's Cove'
Book #2 might be named 'Broken Ridge'
Book #3 will most likely be name 'The Dreadlands'
As for the Aether, I won't be using it. In a story like this, there's only room for the world, and Hell... It will still be called 'The Nether' in the book.
TL;DR:
Aether NOT being added
Herobrine being removed
I will write TSC: Origins as a separate book.
I don't know if not changing the name "Lusy" is a bad idea, since the guy no longer uses that name.
I also applaud your will to do this series, and I will encourage you to go on step by step. There is no sin in rewriting a story.
Also, the thing with names, in my story, almost everyone is somehow inspired by a real forum user, however, I don't use their usernames because I want to keep the feeling that everyone is just an made up character. It's up to my readers to figure out who's who. (Although they might not like it...)
Thematic naming. Try it.
Also, there's nothing wrong with 2nd narrative. You're very good and your narrative is strong, and it's one of the things that makes your story unique. Don't drop it for a style that you might not like as much, or not as good at. It really sets in the atmosphere...

Not too bad, actually. Have you ever considered self-publishing?

"I often think about that old metaphor, the one that says we are all islands on a wide sea. Especially these days, now that things are more difficult than before and the world appears to be harsher than we once imagined it to be. We are all like islands, the philosopher said. Perhaps it's true. Yet I cannot help but remember an older saying, scratched on a cave wall somewhere by a long-forgotten prophet: in the end, the sea will claim everything."
Call me selfish. I don't care.

Well, then thanks for that... Even though I technically implemented Herobrine into the story... But he's more of a 'guest star'
To my readers, how would you like the next story to center around the Aether?

What do you mean by 'know the Aether'?
Currently working on the next chapter.
