I have been thinking about this for awhile and I would like your honest opinions. Also please add any ideas for things that i should get rid of. I am mostly going to be talking about multiplayer but the singleplayer would more likely be a game where you would do semiopen levels that force you to do crazy stunts. The world is torn apart where the biggest country would probably be as big as Rhode Island.
This game Anarchy will be like a call of duty(A.K.A. more arcade like....Please dont kill me for saying call of duty) But more focused on three important aspects in Multiplayer. However wiping the perk and gun system they already have.
In this game the maps would be huge. Almost as big as Forge World in Halo:Reach.
First aspect: Your Gun. Everyone starts off with the standard Rifle and standard pistol in multiplayer. As you progress it evolves on Black op's idea of your gun by making you buy attachments and gadgets. So lets say you want to be more of a shotgun person. You buy the upgrade for more bullets per shot and making it a bit more powerful. However when you buy upgrades it sacrifices a few things so that noobs dont start out with the worst guns so if they buy the ability to have more bullets per trigger pull than it means they would have to reload more often and if they wanted to make their gun have more power than they would have to pump their gun like a shotgun.
This could evolve into very unique weapons. Also their would be camos but you could combine camos. Also you can place your own scopes with your own type of aiming. Like battlefield this game would have bullet dropping so if you had a long range gun but you placed a red dot on it than it wouldnt be able to measure how far away the enemy is and be able to precisly hit that target.
A special way to also upgrade your weapon is to place flashlights, a gadget that tells you how many bullets are in your clip at the moment (like Halo’s assault rifle), obviously laser pointers or cooler gadgets like the ability to shoot place able landmines so that you can look off into the distance shoot the wall 1000 meters away and watch as your enemy steps on the landmine that you placed. I’m thinking crazy stuff.
However to make all of these gadgets very cool and promising it would be more like halo’s leveling system where it takes a few days to go from one level to the next and having to save up to get your upgrades you want and showing it off to your friends. Making your weapon more unique than theirs.
You can change what your gun looks like and you can make classes but in big games if you had a very good sniper weapon you would be dubbed as the sniper and not a close quarter’s person.
Second Aspect: NPC forces that react to your command.Think of it like this. You are in a middle of a firefight and you need to charge that hill however it is blocked by a machine gun turret which is being used by the enemy. You look onto your GPS (If you bought one for your armor if you didn’t than you use a map.) and call in paratroopers to land and eliminate the enemy.
You can call in allied troopers if you have bought the ability to call them and have bought enough soldier slots (let’s say you have 3 already deployed and you only have four soldier slots than you can call in only one soldier). But in game to earn better soldiers is by your time alive combined with your kills (one kill equals 10 seconds). So as you progress and earn more and more slots for soldiers you could become a general and never leave the base in a game. Real players in the battle area would have the upper hand on these soldiers obviously but they could easily be overrun and killed.
You would be able to tell these soldiers commands like the hold position, advance, proceed with caution, fire at will, and move as you wish(this command would let them do whatever they want without you telling them what to do.) With a general commanding these armies than the enemy team who notices very good soldiers and lots of them would try an assassination attempt on the general by attacking the enemy base. If a soldier who is commanding troops is killed than all of their soldiers would either hold position if they were given the order or go into anarchy and form their own group and fight everyone.
These soldiers would have preset load outs where they would be given the most basic assault rifle, shotgun, etc.
To balance the new people from the pros is the facts that the more slots you have means the harder it is to earn very well trained soldiers in battle(before the battle you can place how many soldier slots you want). This will allow new people a very well trained companion and pros a lot of semi decent soldiers however the generals could wait a really long time to spawn very good soldiers.
Third aspect: Armor. Everyone starts off with the lightest armor possible which are street clothes. This means new people would be the fastest soldiers on the battlefield while people who have been playing for a long time who have earned larger armor with more gadgets they would be very slow.
As people level up they would earn gadgets like GPS’s, tactical watch(Pretty much a watch but with more commands for NPC forces), or a visor that can depict enemies from far away(Very useful for snipers). They could also buy well armor to increase their damage resistance but slowing them down. For people who would have LMG’s they could gear up on the very biggest and toughest armor and pretty much be a walking tank as everyone shoots that one guy.
Armor is something I haven’t really thought about but if you have any ideas for any of these than please let me know and I’ll probably edit it in.
Here are the basics of what you would see in game.
First off the maps are huge. This allows for bases to be far away but to keep the action more tactical than arcadey. You can call in Tanks and some air support but you can only drive a jeep filled with soldiers, a truck filled with soldiers or a ATV. You can get lifts from helicopters and beable to get on gunners of tanks but other than that you cannot drive anything. You could also get helicopters to give you strafing runs of areas where you personally are blowing the crap out of everyone on the field.
Game Modes. I really like Battlefield games so these two are obviously placed in (Rush and Conquest) Rush is a gamemode where you attack two objectives than once you destroy them you can move on and have two new objectives. Conquest is a game where its pretty much domination in Call of Duty. there are 3 or 5 territories in a map and you must capture them to gain points. Another game mode i came up with is pretty much called Anarchy(ill think of a better name). There are 5 to 7 teams. Each team is assigned a territory that would be in Conquest or a Base(there are 2 on each map for games where there are 2 teams) and at these areas the teams must capture the enemy's territory and when they do those soldiers who lost their own base to a rival becomes part of their rival's army. They wont win a bonus for winning but if they personnaly capture territories for the team they would earn bonuses. this would go on till there are 2 teams left and it will usually be a large team vs a very small but defensive team or two medium sized teams. In my mind I see that there will probably be 14 player cap per game. This may seem small but add in the fact that they will also be spawning their own NPCS which would turn a 7v7 into a 70v70. That’s a big number. I haven’t gotten started on Story Mode but this is pretty much the barebones of what I believe the multiplayer should look like.
Ok now on to Story.
The world is in present time. The main character's name is Drake Shumaker he is a veteran from afganistan who just returned home. He has a wife at home and a child who is very sick and needs medication. Drake and his wife decided to do everything in their power to get their kid the medication she needs. This made Drake join the army. After his tour in Afganistan he payed for most of the medical bills but had no money left over. Without any money left over he is unable to support his family and joins a local mob group called Oracle(Im thinking of a better name but thats all ive got at the moment) this group is filled with politicians, bussiness men, and military officers. Oracle's main goal as known by the whole group is to completely destroy America's power and to make it unable to communicate with other parts of it other than its local area. After that they plan to unite it under their own rule. Drake was made fully aware of what their plans are and still went ahead but only for money. The prologue level for the game is Drake helping Oracle turn America into Anarchy and it works.
After the mission Drake returns home and thats when the gameplay kicks in.
First off the world is an open world, Drake can roam around his home as much as he wants but there are areas that are locked off and Drake must do SIDE missions to open up those areas. Drake becomes the general of the people because pretty much every county in America turned into a country. From earlier posts the "Your Weapon" idea from will be implented into gameplay where your character can buy attacments for your gun but to get more the more exclusive attachments Drake must unlock those other areas in his homeland and search the areas. The second element in story is the fact that Drake becomes a general of the militia. He can send regiments of the militia in his army to other county countries and gather resources for Drake’s home.
Now CAMPAIGN missions are focused outside of the free roam world that is constructed. Which means that the free-roam is mainly used to find gun attachments and to test and modify the weapons. Now the campaign missions are focused on finding and eliminating Oracle and any threats that it poses to the world.
Please anything that pops in your head about this please let me know. I would love any constructive criticism. Please.
although the story is a little weird, its multiplayer leveling system/ weapon system would still be better than Call of Duty.
Well it isnt based off of those games. I was saying halo, battlefield, and call of duty so people got an image of my idea. And most games now adays cant get that much original besides creating a game with a few concepts taken from other games. Yea the story is a bit weird but the main idea is that every county now fends for itself which i think is pretty cool.
