I was bored today and I felt like making something.... then somehow I came up with making a 3d dragon in the style as if it where for minecraft. So I opened blender and one sandwich later I made this:
This is still a work in progress and nowhere near finished, but I though I would post it for some early feedback.
Possibly too complex for minecraft, though it depends on how big it is.
Yea, It probably is. I imagine it would probably be pretty huge and pretty rare. Just imagine one day exploring a cave and finding a huge cave with this thing it it.
The knees should be straight, as it is with all creatures in Minecraft, and the horns, mouth, and ears don't quite seem like they would look right compared with minecraft's style, as, if you notice on other creatures, horns(Cows) are still straight, and ears and mouths on everything are done via textures. Other than that I would say just make it tad more rigid, perhaps, but so far,I'd say it looks pretty nice. Despite the minor flaws I pointed out, I'm going to say there's more good than bad.
I might redo it a little more low poly, but I still want to keep the mouth the way it is, because it just wouldn't be as epic looking if it was just a texture XP
Yea, the wing was just quickly slapped on just to help it give it more of the dragon feel, right now I'm looking through a bunch of photos and trying to figure out how to make them look best while still keeping it as low poly as possible.
Worked on it a bit more, fixed up the wings a bit and removed the spine thing because that probably takes too many polygons. most of the detail will come with the texturing.
I've fantasized about dragons so many times..... would love to see them in Minecraft :biggrin.gif:
It is a really awesome model! It wouldn't really match the other mobs though. Like the legs probably should be just those straight boxes , same with the horns and the head might need to become a box as well.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I dream of a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.

If it was like that then it would look a little stupid. I think it looks better with more fancy shapes
While I do agree, it doesn't have that minecraft feeling. If someone gives it a skin, however, I may think otherwise.

(Would suck to kill that thing)
