If you're callin' about the Mobtalker scripts, I no longer have access to them.
However, it's been getting tempting lately to put together a modpack that includes CustomNPCs, so I could definitely work in something along the same themes in the modpack's quests. Feel free to give suggestions of mods that promote an experience which minimizes mining grind in favor of exploration. I'll likely have to include Grimorie of Gaia to provide good models (No I'm not gonna directly change the default mob models)
Alright, So I have been working on this for a couple days, it's sitting north of Aerios. Oh, currently I'm using Dante's HD tex pack, so it looks a bit different than what most people will see. :smile.gif:
Top
Bottom (length)
Bottom (center)
Inside (??)
I know exactly what this is going to be, but Ridge said surprise him, and that's easier if no one else knows XD
Although I welcome guesses.
PS: It's not a UFO, even though as of now it does look like one :smile.gif:
Hello, I'm new to the server. I've heard great things from the community about Voxelbox.
I made this in a couple hours in the Daro the other day. This was my attempt to get the attention of the admin's! My creation started out as a simple common pyramid and eventually worked my way into creating this Bio-dome thing.
Just built a small keep and tower for my Voxel debut... I didn't find enough space to build anything larger than that at this time. Off to explore now. ^-^

OUR WHAT? the suspense is killing me.
I'll get on and take a look at the build tonight, in the mean time, try starting on a house of some sort, i like houses.
Houses are boring. I live in a house. I see houses across the street. I see houses downtown. But what I never see is a magnificent intricate glass/steel, impossible to build in real life, awesome building thing.

Hi Dante!
I think your VoxelBox HD Texture Pack is awesome.
I would like to suggest a slight mod to the iron block texture.
It looks a little bit dark compared to the standard texture pack iron block.
It may fit the server better if looks something like this:
i am unclear about what is confusing to you. the opening post to this thread clearly states the server's is available by logging your minecraft client into: thevoxelbox.com

How long you have:
We are not building axe murderers who run around the world demolishing spawn for fun. Often we clear it when it gets too full to build any proper structures, or the landscape gets trashed to the point it needs a restart.
If your build looks promising, usually we will either A: Whitelist you then and there while we go around our last checks, or B: We will save the building in a schematic, which can be loaded on request. If your build did not get saved, then most likely it would not have given you whitelist either.
What kind of construction do you prefer to see to test the new player ?
There are a few things which make a good build. Layout, view from outside, view from inside and purpose are a few of them.
For example: A Victorian manor is not a giant room with a few sofas. It is a series of rooms linked together to a hallway, or neighbouring rooms. Making a home where getting from point A to B gives you multiple routes to walk is always a good idea.
Secondly, remember to show you can build more than a box or sphere. Make a floor plan that's asymmetrical, but makes sense, different roof heights and various protrusions or intrusions into the main walls are all highly appreciated. Use minecraft's 3Dness to build more than a painting on a wall.
Lastly, you have a huge range of specific resources at your disposal. Not only can you make cobblestone stair seats and halfstep tables, but about half the paintings available are cupboards, drawers, vanities and mirrors, letting you decorate your house far more effectively than before. Showing you can theme your interior design is even better.
TLDR: Build like a human, not a survivalist. Don't make a furnace and craft table: make a blacksmith and workshop. Go the full yard, and make your builds feel like they should in real life.
What kind of activity/investment do you requiere from the players in your whitelist ?
None. Once you are whitelisted, the only difference is that now you can build anywhere. Your first goal is to start a project that might flower into something interesting. Start with an idea, search for a good spot for it (aka, not next to the Daro, or remotely near it.) and then build.

I was more meaning this (sorry if I was unclear) : you prefer a realistic house which fit with the others houses arround (aka style of the staff house), or a original construction showing the creativity and imagination of the players, or something difficult to realise from a technical point of view (good geometry or good use of redstone and engines in general).
But i guess your answer answered my question anyway :smile.gif: Once I got a awsome idea and some times, I may come and build something.
let me try to take a crack at this, both Admins and Titans have the ability to submit you for whitelisting on the server, every other rank (builder, sniper, titan) needs to run through me. So, all you really need to do is get the attention of someone that has a similar taste. Some of us like mathematical builds (golden ratios, fibbonacci's, NOT CUBES), some of us like engineering projects (redstone, minecarts), some of us like grand schemes, some of us like small detailed builds, some of us like futuristic, some of us like fantasy, some of us like practical, some of us like abstract, some of us like brown-nosing, some of us hate brown-nosing, and some of us (unexplicably) like recreations of real world buildlings.
More directly, to answer your question: "[Do] you prefer a realistic house which fit with the others houses arround (aka style of the staff house), or a original construction showing the creativity and imagination of the players, or something difficult to realise from a technical point of view (good geometry or good use of redstone and engines in general)?"
^ wht I'm talking bout
when all of a sudden, cozy as we were... BAM!
another airship crashed into us out of NOWHERE!
"Okay, who's messing around with voxelsniper"
