(Cause I'm totally not asking you to let me build on the rest of the map where my stuff won't disappear every few days :wink.gif: )
We don't wipe spawn every few days. That was the old map. Sorry if you had anything wiped, but if you read the signs at spawn, we fully disclose that we wipe the Daro area.
On another note, I'm sure someone will see it soon; If it's not just a 'build to make whitelist' structure why not post pictures?
No, I haven't lost anything there, in fact last night was the first time I had been on this server. But there was someone else complaining that his sky castle had disappeared, so yeah...
And here are pics:
Not sure what I was trying to achieve with the roof, but it's not too bad.
Friendly librarian.
Lots of books.
Stairway at the back, leading to...
The reading room, which also has a nice view.
I wish I made it twice the size, it would've worked a lot better...
Feeling inspirationally dead at the moment :tongue.gif: (Damn you Triginometry!) but I'm looking for something cool to build for this weekend
Use the accused trigonometry to create a hexagon with a pentigon inside with a square inside that with a triangle inside that with a final circle in that. All regular.
The total interior angles of any shape is corners times 180 take away 360. Divide that by the number of corners in that shape to get a single interior angle.
With those angles, use geometric reasoning to create right angle triangles all around the object, but with perfectly horizontal and vertical sides. Estimate a length, use that and the right angle triangles to find how wide and long the length actually is in a grid, then plot it in minecraft.
Starting inside out, you can play around with the figures until the all touch each other, but don't overlap. Extrude these lines upwards in tiers to the golden ratio, and situate a town on each layer, with lowest rank at the bottom, highest at the top.
Decorate as pleasing, serve with interior furniture and landscaping.
The perfect Castle, baked to planning perfection :smile.gif:

Oh Feather... Please never leave us! :tongue.gif:
Also Jale (And anyone else whitelisted) we have an open ended city starting in survival; 'Klink.' We're hopefully going for an industrial/steampunk feel. Feel free to join us! its conveniently located across from two portals. Ask in game for assistance locating.

The Voxel Box server admin and all around nice guy
But now some honest words: This is kind of like the best Minecraft Server I have ever seen. The builds are awesome, the detailing is awesome, the people are awesome and the awesomeness is awesome.

I wanted to build a maximum security prison. So I did.
The outside. It's pretty much rectangle with a tower on it (which my_nemesis warned me about but...)
The guard, eating donuts like all guards should.
Door switches, inside the tower. Whoever is inside the tower, can control all movements.
The prisoner's cells, all of which are occupied. I might ask an admin to turn the glass into mob spawners, IF it gets moved somewhere, and IF there is no grass nearby.
A sleeping prisoner.
The second floor accessible only through the tower, where one can open and close the cell doors and observe the first floor.
Looking into the cell of a crying prisoner.
The tower's observation deck, with an alarm system in case a prisoner escapes.
Oh no! Someone's escaped!
Some messy redstone to control the doors.
I hope you enjoy it!
The coordinates are:
X: -3410
Z: -1940
Aha! She is finished! (or at least the visible parts are). The mega dragon, formerly called the 'Goliath' has had a name change due to the fact 'Goliath' was already the name of a roller coaster. As such, the Dragon shall simply be called 'Meaga'. (Pronounced, Me-ah-gah).
Meaga has developed fully now, with claws, horns and spinal fins. She still shows the same aggression as before, but now with added flair!
There will be a bit of a picture dump now. I've chosen the best parts of her to display, but linked the other photos as well. Enjoy, and I hope this wins an award at the Worth1000 competition!

so here's a project i'm workin' on that i am hoping i can get lots of our whitelisters and vips involved. this is the canal lock system for an area i'm calling the "trade cities".
i haven't worked on the rail system in about a week and am getting itchy to expand it. to that end, i've wanted to get the N-line running all the way from lehmann station up to aerios. it currently shops at shotomura shiro and terminates, but the plan is to run it past the granite quarry and then north up to the trade cities, with continuing service to a as-yet-built timber operation in the forest, and then another stop at Aerios (eventually continuing even FARTHER north if there's something to get to!)
the trade cities is going to be located just south of the equator between north and south myrtana:
it'll be a harbor connecting the west and east sides of the map, and a rail connecting the myrtanas, so it's an ideal location for a trading post.
i forsee three districts in the cities:
the first will be themed to the quarry to the south (make sure you visit to check it out!), a showcase of all the stone products the world has to offer.
feature materials for buildings in this district: smooth stone, river cobble, half-blocks, granite, building (mossy) cobble, gravel, with marble accents
the second will be wood themed to go with a lumber operation that will be springing up north of the cities soon (anyone interested? vanacal, maybe?).
feature materials for buildings in this district: log, plank, fence, workbench, chest, wood plate, thatch, other materials as accents.
both operations will be railing in materials to the trade cities, where they will be loaded onto ships that will spread the products to the rest of the world. the third, downtown district will be themed along the lines of the canal locks themselves (take a look at my work at lehmann station and the surrounding areas -- kind of fantasy modern-edge-y stuff with lots of copper and icon and half-block. think of luxurious shops and other things that would spring up in an area like this - speciaty refineries, etc.
feature materials for buildings in this district: copper, oxidized copper plate, iron, half-block, with other materials as accents.
once i finish the canals and bridge to connect the canal sides we can get going on the districts and more specific planning. maybe a party this weekend where everyone comes and builds together like the olden days!

Assuming you mean the 15/16th, I would love to participate! I would mainly work in the stone & wood areas, seeing as I mainly make stone & wood builds. :3
It sounds like a really good build idea, and can't wait to see how the canal & bridge will look. Hopefully we can get a lot of people together for it!
Now here's hoping I'll be able to connect to Minecraft.net by then... I really need to get back to working on Sealth & my Survival base. Bloody Comcast... ><
