Welcome to Blitzcraft!
Teamspeak: ts21.gameservers.com, port 9176
We have been around for quite a while, running private PvE Minecraft servers.
We are a gaming community that has run very successful and public Team Fortress 2, Killing Floor, and Garry's Mod servers, among others.
However, we recently launched a Public PvP Minecraft server!
This is a hardcore PvP/PvE mix, meaning that there are only a few rules regarding 'factions' and spawnkilling.
Nothing is given for free, not even Admins may spawn anything.
It will be difficult to survive, and that is the main point - Most Minecraft servers are too easy in our opinion.
We also use a full-featured Nether.
It runs in parallel with the normal server, and as such items/players are fully transferable.
We are looking at having some faction that uses the Nether - ideas are welcome.
We do have a FFA versus Team setup. There is a group named the Wanderers, that have no allegiances.
They may make and break alliances at will, and are the default faction.
The other group is made up of Townspeople. This is the team side of the server.
The towns may form nations or make war with other towns and the Wanderers.
At the moment we are allowing unlimited towns of a certain amount of residents each (Numbers keep changing).
Anyone may make a town if they can pull a group of players together.
Raiding is allowed and encouraged, and again there are little restrictions.
There are still some in place to keep the balance out of the hands of the townspeople.
Also, we have many anti-grief mods, keep logs of everything, and make frequent backups.
This is just a brief overview, please check our new website if you're interested: Blitzcraft Homepage
You can find the IP address and server status on the right side.
Anyone and everyone is welcome so long as they are civilized, obey the rules, and respect everyone - not just the staff.
After you read the above, and are still interested, you may apply here: Whitelist
You must read the rules. I can detect if you have read them or not.
We are also looking for feedback. We know for a fact that nothing is perfect, especially a just-launched server.
Plan on many changes, and somewhat of a 'director' aspect. If the world becomes unbalanced or stagnant, certain..."events" may occur.
The current staff:
In any case we hope to see you soon, not only because we're nice people...but because we like lots of competition :wink.gif:
fail server if its hardcore pvp why is there anti-grief
Oh, I'm sorry, have you actually played in the server yet? Perhaps you have, in that case, perhaps your pissed off over the fact that you can't just go up to someone's shelter and randomly burn it for your own amusement?
Sorry about the apps piling up. I didn't check them because I didn't think there was a need (Since the normal server + Hmod aren't up yet), but you guys probably want to see if you were accepted or not.
Well, good news! Everyone in the last batch was accepted, welcome aboard :wink.gif:
By the way, just since the temp server is up at the moment does NOT mean there are no rules!
I have already banned 2 people for burning forests! I've kicked more for language and spawnkilling!
If you break the rules on the temp server, you WILL be banned and taken off the whitelist for the normal server!
Anyways, I'm glad most of players on the server are getting along and having fun :biggrin.gif:
It's nice to see a server that can actually function without Hmod, let's keep it that way.
Instead of throwing the regular server right away I decided to do some testing.
I'm glad I did, because there were a few broken pieces on some mods.
All except one is fixed (Cuboid), but it is non-critical and the protection function of cuboid still works.
Therefore, the server is now online. Have fun and Merry Christmas!
Also, I am going to use the same procedure as before - I will run it until I go to sleep for a couple of nights.
This is because our whitelisted population nearly doubled thanks to our successful "temp server" run while Hmod was down.
I have a strong feeling that rules are going to be broken and such, so I want to keep a personal eye on things.
After that it will go back to 24/7 :biggrin.gif:
