UPDATE: The MAP / EXP / COIN / TITLES - will be RESET. Thank you for playing Herocraft Alpha - Welcome to Herocraft: The Multiverse : BETA - THE HARDCORE RISE!
The Server:
We at Herocraft (and Disposable Heroes) believe that this server should be a feat to endure. We want to be the place where the faint of heart does not wander for very long without leaving. No items will be granted, no free teleports, no admin/mod assistance unless griefers/dupers/hackers are on spot. We want the nights to be horrifying and the days to be the time to build up your encampment. We believed that through fear, a better community will be formed. Some of these functions are unavailable in the multiplayer environment but we are making large strides to get them in as soon as possible. The server cap will be 60 and more as the need arises. The first 401 blocks of spawn will be reserved for DH Kingdom - anything outside of that is freebuild unless it interferes with the rules of town/settlements.
The server is moderated, maintained and updated by Kainzo while being hosted by Seytondiablo.
NEW NPC System (12/8/2010)
NPC's have been added to the game to enhance the areas around them. There are currently two types of NPC's, Quest and Traders. More will be expanded about this in the game. Visit Sage Tellah in the Arcanium for more information where other spells may be found!
Township System!
Town (+1500 coins)= 75 block radius (10 signatures) (Grants mayor abilities)
City (+5000 coins)= 100 block radius (20 signatures)
Capital (+7500 coins)= 125 block radius (30 signatures)
Kingdom (+15000 Coins) = 150 block radius (50 signatures)
Empire (????? Coins)=250-300 block radius (200 signatures)
As a rough size estimate - the old 'DH City' was roughly 120-150 block radius. It's should be a massive area for a town.
The Rules:
No griefing
No stealing
No whining
No spam
No duping
No hacking
Keep buildings reasonable
Failure to adhere to any of these rules will result in a ban. A case may be presented via our forums to repeal the ban if you feel the banning was unnecessary.
The server runs a back up system - if you choose to grief, you will be added to the ban list and your actions will be reverted back within MINUTES of the griefing.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of our server - we will be more strict on our whitelist methods. Just posting asking to get in will not allow you entrance - follow the guidelines - those who do not will be the first to be rejected.
Having a referral is a big plus.

This Revised Banking System for Herocraft was written by dagothagahnim, and reviewed and critiqued by Kainzo, into it's current form. This is not set in stone, we may decide to alter parts later.
Rules for Town Banks
Safety Deposit Boxes
Branch Banks
DH Exchange Bank
becoming a Bank Owner
player-run Shops, in regards to Gold
Rules for Town Banks::
-Coin value of gold may never be set under 5 coins per bar.
-Coin value can be set between 5-6 coins per bar.
-Only one bank per settlement.
-Banks can only be established in a Settlement by the Local Mayor, or with that Mayor’s permission.
-Mayors in any settlement appoint a local banker, or become local bankers themselves, no one may become a banker or bank teller in a settlement’s bank, or establish a bank, without the approval of the local mayor.
-A Mayor may remove any of their bankers/tellers they appointed at any time, for any reason. If the removed teller/banker still has bars that need reimbursement, they must be reimbursed prior to removal from duty.
-All banks must have clearly visible lines (que lines, for people to line up and wait their turn)
-All banks must have a single unprotected chest that is used for deposits/exchanges, players must be able to SAFELY place items to exchange with the banker/teller. This will require some careful /protects done in SECTIONS so as to avoid protecting this chest. If done properly, an entire bank, minus this chest, can be protected in about 5 sections, a small bit of extra work for secure banking.
-Banks may accept ONLY Gold, Iron, and Diamonds, this will keep competition fair for shop owners. Bankers need to be aware that they will only be able to sell GOLD to the main DH Exchange, anything else is out of their own pockets.
-Bank owners must allow a mayor-appointed teller to work the bank as well. Any GOLD taken in by this appointed teller is to be reimbursed by the bank owner at the bank’s standard price. The bank owner does not have to reward the appointed teller in any way, that is up to the mayor that appointed them. The bank owner merely buys any Gold taken in by the teller at the same price the teller exchanged them for.
-Mayors DO NOT have to appoint a teller to a bank if they do not wish to. A bank MAY NOT have more than 2 assigned tellers. A bank MAY NOT have more than one owner. Branch banks are owned by the owner of the primary bank they are associated with.
Optional Idea for Banks, Safety Deposit Boxes::
-A Bank may choose to offer small chests in a side room as Safety Deposit Boxes. These chests would be sold to players to offer safe, secure storage outside of their homes, (for example, to be used when moving plots, they could store things there while tearing down their old house and building the new one.)
-Safety Deposit Boxes would be individually protected with /protect, with only the purchaser as an owner, so they would be 100% private and safe. (This would require the cooperation of the local mayor, or that the Bank Owner is a T3 donator, unless you want to give Bank Owners a special rank that allows the use of /protect as well)
-No bank is required to offer Safety Deposit Boxes, it is voluntary, and would require the consent of the Local Mayor. Also, the mayor or bank owner would need to be capable of using the /protect command before offering Safety Deposit Boxes, meaning the Mayor needs to have the official Mayor title so they can use /protect, or the Bank Owner needs to be a Mayor with the title or a Tier 3 donator so they can use the /protect command.
-The room of Safety Deposit Boxes needs to be accessible to the public 24/7, so customers who have one can access their items at any time. This means no locked doors or hidden door runes between the bank entrance and the Safety Deposit Boxes. Craftbook [gate] gates are allowed however, simply for aesthetics, if you so desire. There must be a [gate] sign on both sides of the gate(s) so they can be opened and closed from both sides.
-Safety Deposit Boxes are required to have a sign above them, saying who the box belongs to, for the sake of book keeping as well as the convenience of the owner.
Optional:: BRANCH Banks
-Banks may establish branches in other settlements if the local Mayor approves of it.
-Bank branches must allow the local mayor to also appoint a banker from the local population that has access to the bank, for when the owner of the branch is not online.
-Branch Banks must be connected to the main bank, or a residence of the bank owner, by a runecraft teleporter, so that the banker can quickly get from the main bank to the branches, and back, quickly, in order to provide more prompt service to the locals.
-If a Branch Bank is established in a settlement, and then later down the line the local mayor wishes to establish a bank run by a local Citizen, they must give the existing bank ample warning, and allow them up to a week to remove their branch bank from the settlement. If the Branch Bank Owner had to purchase the plot the bank was on, the local mayor must also reimburse them in full for what they paid for the plot. (I encourage Mayors to offer the plot FREE to branch banks because they are offering you a kind service, an 8x14 plot is plenty to establish a respectable bank.) The mayor may, immediately after giving initial notice to the Branch Bank, begin building, and open, their own bank if they wish, or they may wait until the Branch Bank is gone and build on that location.
-A Mayor may choose at any time to remove a branch bank, for any reason, but, as mentioned above, they must provide ample warning so the Branch Bank Owner has time to make any last transactions and tear down the bank to salvage the materials.
-The OWNER of any Branch Bank may choose, at any time, for any reason, to close that branch. If they choose to close it themselves, they must notify the local mayor to give them proper warning so they can plan to set up their own bank, and the Branch Bank Owner is NOT entitled to any reimbursement for what they paid for the plot the bank is on(if they paid). This is to discourage a Branch Bank owner from leaving a town bankless for anything other than extreme circumstances, or until that town is ready to establish its own bank.
-Branch Banks are there for the convenience of the local mayor and the local population. Once that settlement feels it can bank on its own, and has the desire to do so, the Branch Bank Owner must respect their wishes and remove the Branch if asked to. Mayors may also opt to keep the Branch as their permanent local banking option if they so desire. (For example, a Village brings in a Branch Bank and finds that, even though they have upgraded to a Town/City, they aren’t really busy enough to warrant a Locally established Bank, so they choose to allow the Branch Bank to stay for convenience’s sake.)
-MAYORS ALWAYS HAVE FINAL SAY WITHIN THEIR TOWN’S BORDERS!!! Bank Owners and Branch Bank Owners MUST respect the desires and wishes of the local mayor.
-A Branch Bank may have a single Large Chest(double chest) that ONLY the Bank Owner has access to, in order to keep things more secure.
-Teleporters that link the branch banks to the main bank or bank owner’s residence must be out of sight, either under the bank in the basement, or in a hidden room behind the teller window. They are not for public use and so should not be publicly accessible.
Rules in regards to the DH Exchange Bank::
-The DH Exchange will ONLY trade with BANK OWNERS from OFFICIAL Town Banks. Not assigned tellers, not mayors, unless the mayor is also the bank owner of course.
-The DH Exchange will be run by STAFF and anyone else the STAFF chooses to appoint to the job.
-The DH Exchange will exchange ONLY Gold Bars for 6-7 Coins each. This provides incentive for banks to try to keep their exchange rates lower to make more profit, and will also encourage small competition between banks for attracting more customers.
-The DH Exchange will try to make sure a banker checks in at least once every 48 hours to trade with Bank Owners. Bank Owners must also understand that the DH Bankers and admins are real people, and if something comes up, they may not be on for a few days.
-The DH Exchange has final authority over Gold Value, but should strive to not alter it too much, if at all, so that banking is still worth doing.
-The DH Exchange Bankers MUST keep record of their gold exchanges and MUST hold onto all gold they take in until such time that Kainzo, or someone appointed BY Kainzo, can check the records and reimburse them for all Gold they have purchased from player Bankers.
Rules for becoming a Bank Owner::
-You must either be the mayor of your town, or have the approval of the local mayor.
-The mayor must post on their TOWNSHIP application on the DH Forums whom they appoint to be a banker/teller/branch bank in their town, so that it can be noted. Likewise, if a banker/teller/branch bank is removed by the mayor, modify their TOWNSHIP application on the DH Forums to reflect the change.
-If you are opening the Primary Bank in a town (not a branch of an existing Bank), you must be a Citizen of that town.
-Bank Owners assigned by the local mayor may be demoted at any time, for any reason. Mayors should strive to not remove a bank owner unless there is due cause, or your town, or you yourself, may lose respectability.
-Bank Owners must be responsible, if you need to take an extended break and can’t be on for two or more days, notify the Mayor of the town you are established in, as well as the Mayors of any Branch locations if you have them, so that they can get tellers in place to pick up the slack. Emergencies are understood, and you may not have time to notify them right away, just do it as soon as you can.
Rules concerning player-run Shops, in regards to Gold::
-Shops may still carry Gold in any form for sale at whatever prices they choose, but may not offer to BUY gold simply to out-maneuver the local bank. Shops must set their buying price for Gold at an equal or lesser value to the local bank. They may SELL Gold at whatever price they wish however. This is to encourage players to use the Banking system, while not leaving Shops completely goldless.
ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS / CHANGES
NEW Town Banking System (11/20/2010)
Read viewtopic.php?f=1014&t=46180#p758510 for more information.
NEW SPELL SYSTEM (11/20/2010)
The Heroes of HeroCraft have joined together to start a magical school! Spells can now be found throughout the world. The level 1 spells "mark" and "recall" (comparable to /home and /sethome - but uses reagents) can be found in The Arcanium outside of the Welcome Center. More spells will be found randomly in the wilderness - These spells will be set by the admins - Other players will have the power to "mentor" new players with new handy spells to help them through their journey!
NEWSERVER MACHINE (11/15/2010)
We have introduced our beast - code named, The Hero Box: Specs are as follows
Dual Hex Core Opterons (2.6ghz)
16gbz of DDR3 1333 ECC unbuffered Ram
Massively awesome serverboard!
60gb SSD OCZ Vertex (285read/270write)
With this new release of our hardware - we will be slowly increasing our ranks to 100/100 sometime in the future. Good luck on getting whitelisted!
Town Policies and Rules
With the release of a newly generated map - we will have size limitations. (which can be increased later). Due to this, we have chosen to limit the size of player towns. Each town will have a set number of blocks to do what it wants with (reaching almost to the sky) - The town tiers will be purchased with coin, how the mayor gets the coin for the town is up to the mayor of the town - if he wants to flip the bill themselves and charge per lot or round up 5 players without a town and have them cover the costs of the town fee, they can. The town levels will adhere to the application method for creating an official town. Each level will need more signatures in order to upgrade to the next level. These may change at a later time, the first level will require 5 signatures and go up from there, however.
In addition to the charter application found here, here, the following must be understood.
Players not in the towns must stay 100 blocks away when building from the town area. Players that want to "settle" in the wasteland and not in a town will be allowed to claim a small area (no where near the size of a town+) and do whatever they please with it. However, they must adhere to the rule of not building within 100 blocks of any official/beginning town. If they are in the way of town expansion - the town will trump the player and encompass their settlement into the town.
A single point will be chosen by the Mayor/Town and then a circular area will be made to represent the area of the new settlement. Some of these may have a little variation in them if the town wants to be themed around a certain area - however it would only be a few blocks not massive amounts.
Before a town can be officially created, it must be passed through the admins/Kainzo
You can no longer JUMP to the size you want. When you start you must first go to village, get the signatures and then when you have enough coin and signatures you may pay the next amount for Town (1500) - the payments ARE NOT cumulative. This is not a "quick" system so it should take a little while to upgrade to the next level.'
CHAT SYSTEM (Nov8)
We will have a chat channel system with GLOBAL / LOCAL / SPECIAL channels. Here's a list of the channels.
JOIN : TAG : COLOR
global == STAR == gold (/ch g)
trade ==TRADE == green (/ch t)
casino == $ == purple (/ch c)
help == HELP == blue (/ch help)
Each town will be allocated their own township channel. Message an admin in game to get it set up!.
NEW ADDITION: Monsters(on hold)/Damage/Levels
We have implemented damage and a leveling system. Monsters will be enabled as well to attempt to beat you in the face at nighttime. The /time command has been revoked as well as the Chrono Triggers! Enjoy!
The Nexus:Mass Teleports
We have introduced the Nexus. A teleport pad at the bottom of the welcome center will send the user flying into a strange new world. The Nexus houses 50+ teleports to random locations in the map (more will be added) The outlying towns will be able to place their teleport signatures on the Nexus Town Portal area so they will allow visitors more easily into their town. Another area is specifically designed for the users who don't have a town but want their attraction to be seen. Who can deny magic?!
Currency/Casinos
The DH Exchange Bank is now open. We take in Gold Bars and give out "COINS" so players can more easily transfer them for goods. They will transfer from map to map if a new map is ever created. In addition players can use coins to place bets with the /roll functions. The economy is thriving!
Player Driven Towns/Communities
A player may form a town, write a charter and get 5 other players to sign it to become Mayor of the town. The review process will be held by Admins/Founders of the server. "Mayors" of towns gain exclusive building rights equal to the architects on the server. An active citizen may only call one "town" its home and not have multi citizenships in other towns. The only exception is DH City. Every player on the server is considered a "DH Citizen".
NEW MAP LAUNCHED (Nov2)
Due to our map size being 1000mbs+ we are choosing to remove the current map and open a second with limitations. This will ensure players are getting a lag-free environment without drawing too much on the server. We will be upgrading our machine within the next two weeks. In addition, we will be enabling monsters and damage. Time commands are being revoked on a global scale. Home/Warp/Spawn are restricted to T1+ donators for personal banking needs. Thanks for enjoying our server!
New Map - New Town Policies:
A guide to new players for towns/etc
Herocraft's Home Ownership and Citizenship. A tale of two terms...
In the realm of Herocraft we are all anxious to see the sights, settle in, start a home and do a little mining to find those elusive gems and ores. Feel free to venture out on your own, if you so choose, seeking adventure and discovery (be sure to stay about 100+ blocks away from the main cities before you start any large building or mining projects. Be respectful of other player projects as well.).
Now, if you are more of the city dweller type or just wanting a safer place to start your adventures. There are several cities from which you can choose to build a home in, all of which would welcome you with open arms (so long as you follow their rules and restrictions, and respect other players property.). In fact, in the World of Herocraft you may own several homes in as many different towns as you would like. You can work those details out with the respective town Mayors.
Now, once you've become accustomed to our world, build a few homes, done some mining, etc. You may find you really like one city or home over another. At this point you could declare your 'citizenship' to the town of your choosing. Keep in mind Citizenship does NOT grant NOR restrict any of your personal freedoms in the World of Herocraft. It simply tells the rest of the community that you have a favorite place you call home. You can also change your Citizenship at any time. All cities will have a 'hall of citizens' area where you can post a sign stating your affirmation, contact the city Mayor for details.
Where citizenship comes into play is for the Mayors of each town. Mayors in Herocraft strive to have at least 5 citizens in their towns. This way they can declare to our lord Kainzo they have fullfilled their duties as a start up town Mayor, and receive full accreditation for their accomplishments.
Check out the Teleport Nexus just to the right of the '/warp town' location, beneath a flowing fountain. Some of the townships you may wish to visit are, but not limited to:
DH City - starting city.
Deepholme (Mayor = Dago)
Dude Where's My Valley (Mayor = Enigma364)
Duushdale Hollow (Mayor = Skaduush)
The Isles of Zarnath (Mayor = Dothackking)
Mercury City (Mayor = Algebraic)
More to come...

This is a well established server with a solid community, active mods, player admins, several mayors, a couple of kings, and a multitude of players, etc. I've been playing on Herocraft's server for almost 3 months solid and have no intention of ever leaving. It is by far the most detailed, organized and successful minecraft multiplayer server available.
We constantly strive to keep the most updated content and useful mods. We run a test server, are working out the kinks in multi-verse travel, the combat mod developer plays on our server and is quick to give us custom updates. There are easily 20+ players on at most times and we reach peak capacity multiple times a day.
I've been through at least 2 map resets and each time the cities and players get better and better. Join the server you won't regret it!
Why should you be accepted into Herocraft?: I believe I can contribute to the Herocraft community. I've been playing in another server, in which I spent countless hours building and experimenting with contraptions.
This is one of the most beautiful designed and crafted servers out their, i don't think theirs a single server better than this one, and I've played on quite a few servers.
Referral: Heard of you from my friend who fiends this server and boasts about how awesome it is
Why should you be accepted into Herocraft?: Because I'm very creative and want to show everyone my building skills and hope to express myself in positive ways

Working on some of the posts / policies as we speak. With the beta launch we will be going into super hardcore mode. Creepers will explode - TNT will be given to T4 users and PVP will be globally enabled.
You guys should seriously consider joining, a massive legit server with new caves, new lands, new biomes... oh my god it sounds so great... Alas everyone should join in on the fun!
I played on a few different servers since i got MC and this one is by far the best i have found (besides the one i mess around with only friends on). The community is very good, the systems are fun and there are always people on to help. This has been my home server for almost 2 weeks and i have enjoyed every minute of it.

Optional:: BRANCH Banks
JOIN : TAG : COLOR
global == STAR == gold (/ch g)
trade ==TRADE == green (/ch t)
casino == $ == purple (/ch c)
help == HELP == blue (/ch help)
