At the age of 17 Darken Rahl killed his father Panis Rahl. Panis Rahl would be considered a good man next to Darken Rahl. The Rahl family had ruled D'Hara for as long as anyone can remember and this continued with Darken Rahl.
The Rule of Darken Rahl
Darken Rahl became the most powerful man in the lands within 5 years of becoming lord of D'hara. His army was great, his officers loyal and his people controlled. Darken Rahl could not rule the lands out of love. So he used hate to control the people. His most famous weapons "The Whisperer" which is thought to contain souls from the land of the dead was used against any rebellion. Many consider Darken Rahl a tyrant but fear him to much to do anything about him.
The fall of the Barrier
D'hara and the midlands have been seperated from the westlands and some other lands ever since Zeddicus Zu'l Zurander created the great magical barrier. It was impossible for any to pass the wall since the rule of Panis Rahl. In a desperate attempt to control the world Darken Rahl devises a way to create a hole in the barrier. After he succeeds Darken Rahl marches on the westlands.
Darken Rahls campaign
Darken Rahl marches on the lands on the other side of the wall. He succeeds in bringing many of them to his control. But some rebellion forces still remain. Darken Rahl works on finding other ways to control his people while his soldiers rage across the westlands.
The Death of Darken Rahl
Darken Rahl is assassinated by a still unknown man. D'Hara is relived to be relinquished from his tyranny until others try to gain power. The people realize without Rahls rule the lands are doomed to anarchy. Meanwhile in the underworld Darken Rahl plots with the Keeper to destroy the land of the living. They nearly succeed.
Rebirth of Darken Rahl
Darken Rahl's most faithful servants the Mord-Sith find a rare liquid that can be used to summon someones soul from the underworld into a body. The revive him and Darken Rahl takes back his power, rebelling against the Keeper.
The war of the Realms
Darken Rahls forces are now more powerful and loyal then ever. They stand like a brick wall in the Keepers way. Although the Keepers banelings may be strong they are no army. War rages through the realms.

When Darken Rahl was a young child, First Wizard Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander killed his father Panis Rahl with Wizard's Fire that was partially touched by the newly erected boundary. Because of his proximity to his father, Darken Rahl was partially burned by the Wizard's Fire.
The loss of his father and the excruciating pain from the treatments he received for the burns drove Rahl mad and he began lusting for revenge against Zedd, who everyone in the Midlands and D'hara could no longer remember. The scars continued to plague him his entire life since almost every women he took to his bed laughed at his scars. Between this time and the beginning of the "Darken Rahl Movement", Rahl became a vastly powerful Wizard by learning the use of subtractive magic, becoming an agent of the Keeper of the Underworld and learning the secrets to opening the boxes of Orden. Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander
Born before the outbreak of the D'Haran War, to gifted parents, Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander became known as a prodigy; the gift was stronger in him than either of his powerful parents and he was able to breach shields in the Wizard's Keep that even the old wizards who taught him were unable to pass. Indeed, as a young boy, Zedd discovered previously unknown parts of the ancient Keep.
Whilst still young, Zedd married the love of his life Erilyn Zorander. With her he fathered a daughter. The Keeper
The veil is said to have been placed on the underworld by the hand of the Creator himself, to lock the Keeper in his domain of the dead and thwart his attempts to destroy his Creation. There are many other measures keeping the Keeper locked in his prison of the dead. The Keeper hates magic, because it is through this that the veil remains intact.
Time has no meaning to the Keeper and he slowly uses his influence in the world of life to convert people to his cause; to swallow all life. Promising these agents or banelings immortality and other seductive promises if they work to free him, the Keeper gains many minions.
Such minions of the Keeper, pledge their soul to him through an oath, given in total darkness. The Keeper wishes to convert gifted to his cause more than any other form of person as they have more power to help tear the veil. Gifted who are sworn to him are granted greater power, including the limited use of Subtractive Magic. The Peoples Palace
The People's Palace is the home of the Lord Rahl and is effectively the capital of D'Hara.
The Palace is a place of exquisite beauty that masks a much deeper meaning. The halls of the Palace shift at seemingly odd times, though not to one with the gift. The People's Palace is in itself a huge Power Spell, meant to diminish the power of gifted who visit the Palace and enhance the power of a Rahl. It does so very effectively and even the most powerful sorceresses and wizards will soon have next to no power at their disposal after a short time at the Palace.
Being the capital of D'Hara, many nobility call the Palace home, though they are subject to the law of Lord Rahl. Mord-Sith patrol the halls, as do soldiers and are a very effective means of warding off potential trouble makers.
At the center of the Palace, there is a room called the Garden of Life. It is a place were the power of magic is heightened and was built for the specific purpose of using the gift, along with opening one of the boxes of Orden. Tamarang
Tamarang had always been ripe for invasion from its surrounding neighbors, especially the people of the wilds. Throughout its history it had developed a number of defenses against invaders. The palace itself was kept heavily guarded, both to keep invaders out and to keep traitors in. The roads to Tamarang in the south were full of inverted forks, to confuse invaders from the wilds. Because of the lay of the land and the heavy woods, it was hard to see the roads cross over each other and switch their direction. Because of the thick trees, it was also hard to tell where the sun was or which direction one was going. It was meant to slow the invaders down a little and give the defenders time to retreat and regroup if they needed to, then to fall on the attackers again. Aydindril
Aydindril was a beautiful place. Many of the side streets were narrow with tightly packed buildings and tiny courtyards. The streets were always teeming with people, especially the market streets. Each of the larger lands of the Midlands had their own palace located in Aydindril along King's Row, though each was nothing in comparison to the splendor of the Confessors' Palace.

Why Choose the Midlands?
We have worked for months to make this the best role playing server possible. I have noticed on most role playing servers the buildings will be small and not very detailed. So we to the time to make the buildings massive! and full of detail. The midlands role playing is also based off of a book. This means that we have very strong lore to begin with and you will find yourself getting lost in the story. We have Terra formed the map to make it look like it really looks like in the lore! This server has some awesome donation perks! But they are not to over powered. Not only will you enjoy role playing but we have added dungeons full of treasure and tons of challenges to do. Even if you are the only person on you will not be bored. When creating the server we took the approach of imaging we were a new player that had just joined we went about making everything in the world as fun, clear and awesome as possible. There are also awsome professions to peruse! Like guard, soldier, baneling, blacksmith, shop keeper, mage. These add even more role playing to the server. But you don't have to choose a class! You can be whatever there will be teachers to teach you skills but if you simply want to wander around and explore go ahead!
Please support us! We have spent months working on this server. And Its going to be really good. It kind of sucks to have 7 people working so hard and not get much support from the mine craft community. You can go to our website and give us suggestions. Or you can post here suggesting something. You can like our youtube trailer of the server. Every little thing you guys do makes us work harder because we want this server to be the best.
Also if you get some other players to join and they tell us you sent them you will get a diamond each time XD
