I know I have no right to speak here considering I'm not a higher up or even on the server, but I say you should do your studies and not worry too much about the server. Plus if the Skype thing is such an issue, maybe you could get a new Skype account?(I'm not trying to be rude here, I swear) I think you should maybe give the server into a few hands of which you can trust to take care of the server and not abuse the power. I say a few because the same issue you face now can happen to 1 person, but with multiple people the issue might not occur. I really don't want to see the server go, but it's like with a Youtube star. If life is difficult, then the fans must understand, accept what they're going through, and let the star make their decision. Whatever you decide, rev, make sure it's what you want.

Rev, you've done a great job with this server. You really have given it your 110% and more. I'm having a lot of fun on this server and i don't want that fun to end or see you having worked so hard for nothing.
Aside from the people who constantly complain about nothing the community is great. Even if you don't count the faithful VRP people, there are great people in our community.
So, i hope that as one of the most awesome people i've ever met, you continue the server, for it's a great one and it would be a shame to let it end like this.
Now for the people who are constantly complaining.
There are some things you don't seem to understand.
This server is here for the people who want to have fun roleplaying in a steampunk setting. This server is not your personal roleplay server. It is not the duty of the staff to keep you happy. The duty of the staff is to make this server fun for all the players as a whole, not you as an individual.
Also, do not expect the staff to constantly provide you with fun. Rev and the staff made this server, Rev and staff built this server, Rev made rules for it, Rev wrote lore for it, Tyler and Ossendar made plugins for it, the staff do their best to enforce the rules and make the server enjoyable for everyone. Now i think that you can do something yourself too.
Examples:
You can take a little time to get familiar with the server lore, not so that you can play Mr. Knowitall with it, but so that you have a good understanding of what is what and who is who.
You can take time to make some good lore for yourself so that you have a defined character, and this will also make sure that your RP is strong and good, and you can tell people a good life story in RP if you want.
If you join a faction, be sure to be familiar with that faction's lore in particular. For example, don't join CoG because you want to PvP with the Bones, but because you like the idea of RP'ing as a soldier who is part of an oppresive government. Same goes for Bones the other way around with their respective lore. Same also goes for Concordium.
Treat the other players with respect, because if you do, you will be respected as well.
Next thing is, a lot of people have the wrong priorities.
Your first priority should be roleplaying. If it isn't, then what are you doing here? It's a roleplay server, roleplay on it. Your priorities should not be having the strongest gun or the biggest ship, because most of the time, this interferes with the roleplay. I mean, what sense does it make for a simple soldier in CoG to have a giant battleship? I'm not saying you shouldn't mine every once in a while, this is still Minecraft, a big part of the fun of the game lays in mining. But you should not just constantly go powermining just so that you have enough money for a big battleship. There are so many other things you could do. You could ask your superior in your faction for example if there's something that needs doing, you could just go out and meet random people and RP with them. I assure you that that is a lot of fun, if done correctly.
Last thing, the rules are there for a reason. They are there to make sure that fun is fun for everyone. And sure, they sometimes limit you, and maybe don't make sense to you. Maybe you even have a very valid reason (RP or otherwise) for why you broke a rule. But if everyone would break rules and afterward explain them with those reasons, then what point do the rules even have? They are there to regulate the RP and make it fun for everyone.
That's it, i just wanted to say that, for i can't stand seeing a server like this one fall apart because the ignorance and imaturity of some people.

Ive only been on the server a couple days, but I love it. I really think/hope you keep doing, but if you cant do it because of your real life or it brings you to much stress than you can handle, then you shouldnt. I got banned for 3 days, I dont know why, but Im not going to stir up trouble, I dont even care about appealing, Ill just wait my 3 days. I just hope I didnt do something that caused you trouble. Anyways, I would love to donate, but I have no money on my debit card and dont know when I will. But when I do get some money there I will certanly donate becuase I love this server!

You by Far are one of the best Owners I have ever encountered, people ******** and spam the global chat because they think it is funny, they think that getting someone over the edge is amusing, YOU ARE BETTER than this. I have had an amazing time since the Beta and I do not wish for it to end, There is a famous quote saying You will never succeed if you give up. You have given people, living breathing Humans a purpose in this imaginative world of Retrofuture. YOU are the reason that everyone still plays and has a good time, I have seen way to many potential servers fall into the depths of closure because the owners can't handle it anymore, or say they think. Just by starting this wonderful server you have proven that You are already greater than you believe yourself to be, you have filled people with joy who actually love this server, like me. If you do decided to cancel I'll at least have the wonderful and Joyous memories of playing here, Thanks for your time.
Being an Admin of a Roleplayserver I have to deal with many of the same issues, For the spammers who spam useless things tell them to Limit the Global chat and if they dont, Mute them, Or the entire channel. As for the Rulebreakers, Ban them for longer periods of time, (I reccomend Week at minimum).
As for the people whom try to find loopholes, Make it known that there are some Rules that are unwritten, Such as a No-RP-warning kill, Or if it makes no sense in RP. (I havent played yet so I will be useing some of the ones I think all RP servers need to use) If they keep breaking the rules slightly, Ban them if It gets to to much.
As for the Factions, Try having some sort of long term event, Like The CoG Starts to march on The Bones, Or Vice versa. If the playerbase is mainly PvP interested have little outposts that each faction can take over. Have the Leader of a faction appoint leaders to each of these outposts so you have some soldier RP going on.
As for Faction bases, I'll bring up the Outpost idea back up, Have the mainbases protected by some plugin like Worldguard, And have the outposts Greifable.(Not utter destruction though)
As for the Skype issue, I deal with it also. One of the downsides of being and admin/owner I guess.
This is my 2 cents. I haven't played on this server AT ALL, But I have been accepted. Being an Admin on another server gives me experience on the same issues. Don't use my suggestions if you don't want to, But feel free to.

Why are you here? I don't know what brought you to Minecraft in the first place, but obviously is not the game for you. Go play Call of Duty or Halo, but not this. This is not the place for unreasonable competition, blind hate, unnecessary vulgarity, or schadenfreude. Minecraft was created as a game with no objective or goal, much like life. We know not what we are to do, except survive. Somewhere along the line, we discover the ability to create. We see the world not as an obstacle to be overcome, but as a canvas to be painted upon by the people who dwell within it. We could share ideas, work together on projects, and forge kingdoms of prosperity and enjoyment. We may fight and wage war, but it is all in fun and sport. We are not angry or hateful, we are not dishonest or cruel, we are simply playing a game. That is what Notch and Jeb envisioned as they worked tirelessly to program this adventure we are on. This is also how I feel things should be done in the real world. We do not hold grudges, we do not plot vengeance, we just laugh about it after it is all said and done. I was an outcast. I had no friends, no family who I was particularly close to, and I was alone with my thoughts. I had plenty of time to think about what I wanted to be, but not how to deal with others. This game changed all of that. I could be who I wanted to be, and most people were accepting. I was part of a community, and part of something beautiful. Different people have different things that they get pleasure from, for me it is this game, this community, and all of the people in it. Some of you have things to do outside of this, not me. I don't feel like I have wasted my time, I do not feel like I am a pitiful person. I feel like I learned more from this experience than I could ever learn from school or a summer camp. Sure, I may grow tired of this one day and cast it aside, like Jak and Daxter, or Zoo Tycoon, but for now, this is my life, and I am happy. Happier than any sport or club could ever make me. When I'm on a computer I'll type my sentiments, right now though I'll say that Dave and game would make good mods, they both know the rules and have adhered to them. When they have an issue they need solved they don't take the law into their hands, they let a staff member know when one is on and then we do our job by investigating and solving the issue.

Bio: Woody lived in New Sera with his parents Michael and Lisa Curtis when the rebellion broke out and particapated in it, Woody's parents were killed in that war yet he decided to help the infernal battle. When Bone was killing the council of the government Woody was shot in the hand, obliterating his left arm to the middle of his forearm (Woody is a technical genius and has repaired his arm). So Woody ran away from the fight, relieved of the moral of the Bone he decided to live like that for a year, away from battle and in hiding. Except his life was boring, he wanted to relive his days as a Bone. Woody decided to seek out the bones and live as one, and is still searching as we speak.
