"Because I could not stop for Death, He kindly stopped for me;
The cube had food and maybe ammo. And immortality."
ALL ****ING DAY TODAY I WAS TRYING TO LAUNCH A GAME. Civilization V wouldn't launch. I've racked up over 50 hours and it randomly stopped working today... I finally fixed it and now I'm tired as hell and TOO ****ING TIRED to play. :sigh:

There I was. Standing in between the line; the one that displayed Legion from the Wasteland. It made me think a bit, did the Legion and other factions distinguish themselves from others because they think of themselves as pure souls? If we all have a different definition for a pure soul, then what would be the right one? Their definition, they would say. But it took no longer to process that then when the first bullet hit the sand, penetrating into the sand like a metal worm.
"It's time, Phillips," General Everest said, "we have them so outnumbered they'll crap their pants before they see the first bullet hit them."
I chuckled. Everest always exaggerated, and when he wasn't doing that he was making speeches and shooting Soviets and Enclave and Independence, but now he would shoot Legion. And I would, too. So we were alike some way, I guess.
"Their bullets can pierce our armor, our skin," Everest continued, "But they cannot pierce our soul!"
I felt a burst of morale, and like a choir we all sang a similar song I called Say Huzzah A Bunch of Times. We charged. I ran and dodge, we all fired like mad. The whisper of each bullet passing my ear or under my legs had me trembling, but I had to fight it. The fear and me being afraid to die. I ran with Parsons and a Soviet soldier into the oval-shaped arena. Nothing in sight. I heard a scream. A scream for life, which that person was about to lose. I knew they were close.
I knew they were left of me. I ran. I sprinted across the sandy surface to the rough brick. It was extremely textured, as if someone cared an engraving into it. But there they were. Legate and Decanus and Caesar. All in plain sight, cowering behind textured brick as well. We fired, they did so, too. They fell to the ground, begging for mercy, but we could not give it. Or could we?
I couldn't and wouldn't bother to ask General Everest, so I shot. I shot their heads, their legs, their torso, their arms, their everything. I didn't feel mercy, which I could tell they telepathically asked for. That thought of mercy went back and forth in my brain, as if I cared. But I didn't.
We took the survivors, the Legate and Caesar. We drowned the Legate to death, but it was an accident. The valve didn't close fast enough, so he died. Caesar, well...What happened to him was almost unbearable. We burned him in his stadium, then brought him back, and I don't know what happened next. Him and Everest had a "talk" and Caesar ended up with three teeth gone and screaming his lungs out. That day taught me a lot. Like how the most unlikely of odds turn up, and how sometimes they don't.
Rest In Peace, Legion.
This was a true story told from Private Phillips perspective at the Battle of Aragoth Arena.
When we arrived, We arrived in Sheer force and numbers. the walls shined in the distance blood red. The President just finished giving orders, I Pvt. Mikennly sat on the edge of the drop off manning the Co-axel machine gun. My squad commander Mcdonagah had just finished a long draw on his cigar and looked at me. He had a feirce determineation in his eyes. I made a quick glance around me, my squadmates were all packed in the virtibird all sporting a metalic grey suit of Advanced power armor. the pride of the enclave, each was marked with their rank, serial number and a specialization mark. My rear gunner Pvt. Beckers was the squad medic, he looked real nervous. I gave him a nudge and he almost jumped out, he gave me the bird and flashed a smile and looked back out the window. I shrugged him off and returned to my brooding. the Pilot gave us a green signal to jump, I heard Commander Cyruz screaming "GO, GO, GO!" The D-boys were first off and made a show of doing some triple flips on the way down. When i jumped the world flashed before my eyes ,and i was barley able to hear Captain McDonagh screaming "PULL THE ****ING CORD MIKENNLY" i regained sub-reality and pulled the cord barley in time.
I hit the Baked sand on my face, more like a ground palm. I stumbled up to see Corpreal Johnson get hit in the shoulder with Sniper fire. It must of been a Anti-personel rifle because boy did he fly. Corpreal Johnson was missing a effing arm! President John was yelling over the entercom "GET THE **** DOWN" The D-boys were already setting up shop by now. We had Sargeant Sojer on the .50 and he was puttin them up range at those legion scum. Commander Cyruz was leading the offencive leading us to the left while the NCR, Soviets, and the rest of the Hellfire unit was going right toward the base head on. Rockets glared out of the Formation and struck home. RPGs were flying every where amid the chaos. I saw Pvt. Ackerson go down to my right in a sharp cry. He was missing a finger, and was just sitting there stareing at his bloody stump, Captain Mcdonagah threw him his side arm and picked him up and gave him to Pvt. Beckers
the Hellfire boys were cutting through the Legion defenses like they were butter. Flame was every were, it looks like the D-boys brought their toys to the battle this time. I look to the left to see Specialist. Smith stuck in a melee battle with a legionarre i raise my rifle and prepare to shoot when i'm hit from the right by a legionaire i struggle to raise my rifle to fire when his head explodes like a watermelon getting all over my visor and armor. I hear Sojer's Voice over the intercom "Tango down watch your 9 Mikennly" I turn back to Specialist Smith and see him bleeding out from a wound in the throat with a dead legionaire next to him. I sprint/run to him and see a shining blade stuck in his neck. Specialist Smith's hands are gropeing at the blade trying to get it out, you don't have to be a medic to know he's going to die. i take a knee next to him and say "its going to be ok Smith its going to be ok" but in my heart i know hes a goner. i take his tags and promise to take the news to his wife and kids. I call Pvt. Beckers over and he shakes his head. he props him up on a sand dune and leaves him there. I hear a voice on the intercom Calling all troops we've breached the proemiter i repeat we've found a way in. I ran to join up with Captain McDonagah and Officer Voss. we run around the corner and start fireing at a group of legionaires on a mounted gun. we mange to nail the loader and effectively stop it from shooting. I saw a Decanus point at us and yell, i knew we had to get out of there fast. Captain McDonagah led us down another corradoor and we stumbled on the slave pins. We saw all the prisoners, and i heard Officer Voss swear. there had to be atleast one hundred of em. Due to orders we singled out the NCR, Soviet, and enclave captives and realesed them. Some of em asked for a gun but we didn't have any to give so we led on. Some how we managed to make it out. I saw the glistening sun, far before i saw the exit. I heard screams of agonany and pain above us, along with chants of FOR AMERICA! and FOR THE MOTHERLAND. we emerged at the front of the base were body upon body was stacked. the stairs were so slick with blood some NCR privates were slipping and falling down the stairs. I saw a D-boy take down 5 legionaires before he was emersed in Legionaires. Mcdonagah was leading us to the extraction zone when things went to H*** Officer Voss was shot in the shoulder, and the medic had to put him in a strecher all the way to the Extraction zone. I took one quick glance behind my shoulder and saw something metalic come my way i strained to see what it was *Rest is too unintelegable to read* personal Diary of Pvt. Mikennly....Status KIA (enclave diarys are written down in electronic records and they use brain waves to record what happens.)
