I was a specialist in the army using stealth. before i was training in martial arts and paurkour,knowing it will be helpful on day. before the nukes i was actually on the mission "anchorage" with the mission to defeat the wretched commies, and in the mission I lost my hand in combat and it was replaced by a robotic one.surviving wasn't fun, I was having a peaceful dinner when the alarm hit.I the rushed home through the chaos, by the time i made it a nuke had hit and damaged me in a bad way. Concentrating on the parts in front of him, he juggled them around in his mind. The man across from watched as he attempted to build the rifle. "How was I that time, Dad?" Mathew asked, silently begging for good news.
"Not good enough," was his reply. Mathew inwardly groaned.

"Exactly," his Father said curtly, "yet you haven't improved in the least. I told you, until you increase your time by at least ten seconds, we'll be at this all night."
Mathew looked down at the table, his shoulders sagging. His Father sighed, his face softening. "Look Mathew, someday you'll take over this repair shop from me, and when you do you need to be ready. You can do this, I know you can."
He offered the boy a smile. "Tell you what. We try one more time and maybe I can take you out to hunt coyotes tomorrow."
"Well..." Mathew grinned. "Alright, but you have to promise!" he added, pointing his finger at his Father.

Mathew was born on the year 2253, in a town in Virginia. He lived there with his Father, who was a talented Gunsmith and Repairman. He taught Mathew how to take apart, put together, and shoot almost any gun. As a gift for his 16th birthday, he was given his Father's favorite gun, a custom made Hunting Rifle, which Mathew constantly practiced with, and developed a preference for rifle-type weapons. One day when Mathew was 21, a group of Super Mutants swept through his town, killing anyone in their path. Though he managed to kill a few, their numbers were to great. His Father was killed, their home was ravaged, and Mathew was forced to flee.
The destruction of his hometown scarred him, giving him a fear as well as hate of mutants. Now, 7 years later, he continues to roam the wastes. With his skill in repair, he strips junk down for valuable material and sells it when passing through towns. However, he never stays long, preferring not to get attached to any of the small, weak villages. Instead, he continues to walk: scavenging, and killing any mutant scum that gets in his way.

"Wh-...what!?" *The man spins on his heel and widens his eyes, Jim leveling his revolver with his head as he does so.*
"Tha's righ' pal. I'll take all y'r caps, guns, an' ammo." *The traveler obediently nods and begins digging through all of his items of value and carefully placing them on the road in front of him. Jim stares, waiting for him to finish.*
"A-Alright...that's all I've got...now please, jus--" *A shot rings out and the man drops to his knees, and then all the way forward. A pool of blood rapidly accumulates next to his head. Jim smirks and spits on the ground next to him.*
"Yuh-oh." *He scoops the valuables into his pack and wanders off down the road.*
"Too slow...."

Since he was a child, Jim had always favored anarchy and and living free by any means necessary. Considering he was born in a vault, he felt extremely out of place, and knew he needed to break out as soon as he could. A few days after turning seventeen, he decided that the time had come. After many hours of conflicted feelings, he decided to ask a friend, whom he had often fantasized about the freedom of the open world with if he would join him in the escape. When the friend refused, Jim became enraged. He grabbed a kitchen knife and slashed his friend across the face before dashing out the door.
He made a rush for the vault exit, threatening many by-standers with his nasty, bloody knife as he passed. When he finally arrived at the huge vault door, to his surprise, he was met by his friend, the awful gash on his face dripping crimson blood onto his vault suit. The friend begged him not to leave, but Jim refused and headed straight for the door controls. When his friend threw himself angrily in the way, Jim inadvertently thrust his knife into his friend's stomach, who soon after fell to the floor, dead. Jim, at first devastated by the accident, opened the vault door and dashed out. He wandered aimlessly for hours before he finally found a town. When questioned about his bloody clothes, he claimed that he was attacked. As soon as Jim could get his hands some new clothes, a weapon, and a few caps, he split. To this day he walks the desert, moving from town to town, searching for purpose...but more importantly, power.

My brother got shot in the head and i got hurt really bad. Im alive thanks to a man who found me and healed me. That man was a Brotherhood of Steel paladin and since then my goal is to become a BoS paladin so i can help other people traped on this apocalypse.
