yes but mine was stumbled upon, you worked on yours =p i was just farting around making things do stuff for reasons, then i noticed the flicker (didnt look at this thread until after i "found" it) and then thought of a way to combine them, though i guess depending on which you choose depends on your location =]
building up isnt always an option after all.

yes but it can be used in so many things! i just made a really annoying "alarm" system with it, spams 2 doors to create the sound needed. its so annoying that i think it can be heard for miles <.< ................ or about 10 feet ;/ also its currently on a tripwire system

i really hope in the next SSFU (super secret friday update) that notch adds flood gates (when closed stop lava/water flow but let it threw when open.) i would combine this with, my clock (running my almost dead MST notion) and when night begins it would open and flood the chamber. you could also make good traps and games such as pressing a button which starts flooding lava, at the back of the chamber

I just spent some time trying to figure out how to make a triggered floor falling/roof falling trap, without having to get them to delete a block(its for the dungeon competition in which raiders are not allowed to break blocks), but the only way to do that is using torches(or the new red powder), and the only way to destroy that stuff on queue is.....by letting in water that breaks the torches/powder, or blowing it up with TNT which produces undesirable results.
A floodgate would be perfect, and/or, alternatively, have some way to trigger a burnout which breaks a torch/powerstick/powder, or maybe even another block type(but only 1 block), in order to create more then just TNT based traps with the new wire system.
Made a "solid state" JK flip flop using only blocks and E-torches
That's an RS latch, not a JK flip flop.
No I it checked on wikipedia, when I do 1 on both the reset and switch , it switches the value.
I just prefer calling it Reset and Set than J and K
It's not a JK flip-flop, cause it's missing the CLK input. I'm not sure WHAT it is. It behaves pretty weirdly.
Specifically... If you set R to 1, Q is the inverse of S. If you set R to 0, S 0->1 will make Q low, but S 1->0 won't make Q high. If R is low and S toggles, then Q stays low until both S and R are high again...
This doesn't sound like any of the flip flops on the wiki page. I dunno what it is.
hahaha check this out! and I can't even get my AND gates working (for some reason, minecraft gets upset and ignores one of the inputs, so it's just a NOT gate with some useless stuff hanging off one side.)
help?

Ive found the problem:
Lets say u have this:
above will work
above wont work
above will work
Problem: The "wires" need to point to the block with torch inorder to work
In the second and third examples, won't the signal be contaminated by the touching wires? Won't that effectively make it an OR gate?
Edit: tried it, and the signals do contaminate. the set up I have no is like this:
key: wire
red torch
dirt
air
switch (whether button, pad, lever, etc)
and it won't AND, it ORs
Edit 2: I am a fool who doesn't read instructions properly. got it working after reading the opening page more carefully. thanks for your help guys :laugh.gif:

Programmable, Disarmable, and Lockable door.
EXPLAINED IN ACTUAL BLOCKS
Lock when you're in, unlock and arm when you're out.
Disarm to be able to leave after programming it.
Uploading Vid to Youtube.
Protip: After you place the door, in the tunnel, you should have the torch visible, and make the block ontop to go across have a switch on it's edge, to lock when you enter.
The fact that the password is on the other side of the door adds a pain to intruders, it's generally gonna be too long for them to hear the door click.
Circitry:
:!: = Switch to enter password
:?: = Block with "disarm" switch on top.
 = Switch you will use to program
= Iron Door placed sideways to close at 1 and open at 0.
= Any block.
= Torch
[iron] = ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
= Wire
= inverter then enough wire to extend your floor as far as you want, it's far enough the other way.
Also, [iron] is most often going to be stairs to the switch. Just
two blocks down. Vertical according to this diagram. Leave a spot so you can flip it from above. Ending up at the iron which is a wood step, to flip the underneath switch. Make sure to keep all of the rest of the floor.
Now to the fun part: Huge anus wiring. Do NOT think I'm joking when I say it took me that entire MANSION'S floorboard to wire this.

It's expandable to more switches, but it takes SOO MUCH EFFING MATERIALS.
This goes way, way over my head, but I have a question for you guys.
Why aren't you just making circuits IRL instead of simulating circuits in a building-blocks game?
Because building circuits in real life is hard.
I have an idea for using cuprite/copper/iron oxide/who cares for a compact memory unit. I'm whipping up the design for a prototype that takes inputs by lever and dumps it all to a row of doors when another lever is pulled.
Does anyone know the ID for powdery red stuff? I hacked some in but it was the ore.

Because we are using the circuits to make things in a game, and it is a new frontier building with Circuite, while pretty much anything with circuits has already been done irl, and supplies are free in minecraft.
Probably the safest way to contain something is to have a vault with three block thick walls of obsidian separated by walls of lava spouts, with a six block changeable passcode entered in a room with airlocks on both ends, with a guest entrance on a minecart path in a maze of obsidian and lava that is directed to doom or inside through a few lever controls in a control room that overlooks the entrance of the maze. It is overkill though and would be only possible using a map editor, but it would still be cool.
building up isnt always an option after all.

Lets pretend there's only 2 inputs, A and B. Lets call the output wire (the one connected to the door) C.
Your truth table is this.
ABC
001
010
100
110
And the truth tables of an AND.
ABC
000
010
100
111
What you created is a NOR.
Really easy. Just need a NXOR for each pair, and then AND the outputs of all the NXORs.
That's an RS latch, not a JK flip flop.

Side view. sand = air.
Then, top view.
:!:
:!:
:!:
That's a 3 input NAND gate. The entire right row is output. If you want AND just NOT the output before using it.
It's a column shorter then the old way for (N)AND gates. <3
I also have a 13x11 JK flip flop, but I wouldn't have a clue how to explain it. :sad.gif:

This is almost exactly what I did for my 7 segment display, except I used 16 rows for all 16 combinations of a 4 bit number.

You're using block ID's, the item Id's are much higher. Go to http://www.copy.bplaced.net/mc/items/
