Here is another shot of the outlying tower and you can see my magma fueled, water cooled Nether portal in the forground and my most recent project, a humble log cabin in the background.

The F*** do you mean humble? That thing is amazing, nearly as godly as your castle. Can we has your save?

Wow!
That is all I can manage to spout off at the moment...
Your attention to detail, contrast and shape and efficient use of space really makes that manor feel like it could exist believably.
However I think all the windows down the side of the castle give it an uneasy/unbalanced emptiness. It looks like the walls would crumble under the parapets' weights. Still cool architecture here as well though.
It's clear I need to edit the default cloth texture myself, as it's much to plain and tacky to make anything useful out of it. The carpet you have there looks great with your mansion.
^
That has to be one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

Our architecture is completely greek based, and since applications to the server have been closed for quite some time, it's almost an honor to be invited in.
I'm sure you've seen the thread if you've been to the Halloween Forum at least once.
I finished tonight and I think it's time to show it here. It might not be as epic as other buildings in this thread, but I think it's pretty good. Here's a preview - I took a lot of pictures, so you can find the rest in the dedicated thread, plus the save.

I've recently posted a few youtube vids of some of my buildings, as pictures just don't do them justice. I try to make things look cool, but remain functional. Nearly everything is stuff I collected, but I do cheat with diamond picks sometimes because I get impatient while mining. I'm still working on my own painting pack and skinpack, so no paintings have been added yet in the vids (they will definitely help the aesthetic qualities). I hope you like it.
I just finished a sort of cottage on one of my files, and I just thought i'd post it since I'm very happy with how it turned out. (Sorry about the picture size, please open the pictures in a new tab, they're worth it in my opinion.)

you... you built it before me...
I'd like to see your take on the fortress anyway. I started it 2-3 weeks ago I think, I didn't know someone else was building it.
I have been working on building out my world for a while now. Thought you all might like to see it.
This is my main castle complex. I began with building the tower on the right. It was a naturally occurring rock overhang right above my spawn point, which you can see below it (the eternal fires next to the lake). Then continued to expand with towers all around and added a sweeping walkway that starts at the spawn. I used the natural landscape as my inspiration and added towers of varying heights to accent and accompany the cliffs and outcroppings of the mountaintop. The mountain itself is almost completely hollow at this point, with many different rooms and passages, but I need to do a lot of interior work before I want to show it off. Anyways, enjoy!
Here is a sunrise shot of the complex with a view of the second walkway that leads to the courtyard.
Here is a night shot of the complex from the top of my quad tower.
Here is a nice sunrise shot of an outlying tower you can see in the far left of the first pic. It also shows the observation bulb and elevated walkway.

Front view of the cabin.
Sunrise from the main living space. This view is what the whole cabin was built around.
view from the seating area in main living space.
The formal dining room.
The kitchen and informal dining counter.
Hallway from kitchen to the greenhouse.
View from greenhouse balcony off of the kitchen.
The guest room seating area.
The guest bed.
Master bedroom.
The view from the roof of the formal dinning room, and you can see my favorite part, the hot tub!
View of cabin from the hot tub.
And the best view in the whole place, moonrise from the hot tub.
There are numerous secret passages throughout the place that I am currently turning into a grotto/bathing area underneath the whole cabin. Hope you enjoyed the tour! All built legitimately, though I did turn on peaceful to build my cabin. I got tired of hiding from baddies all night and spending all morning hunting creepers.

Having just now finished looking around your world, I feel I can say this about it:
Your spawn point has quite the nice view, with your mountain base to one side and that odd overhang to the other. Plus, there's the way most of the main base seems to flow out of the mountain, without (to me) becoming too much of an eyesore.
The log cabin is more of a lodge to me, and with maybe a couple more bedrooms could pull that off better than just a 'cabin'. It felt very airy and was decorated nicely.
You did say that the 'secret' passageways were incomplete so I can understand this, but I found them to be confusing as-is. I got lost in one I found in the cabin and somehow came out in the main castle. I also think the main castle/base could use... something to make it feel more lived in. It felt too empty, almost too big.
Keep at it! I'd love to see the entire thing again when it's finished.

That's amazingly beautiful. Also, those waterfalls really add to it. I really like it.

Just edited the post and tacked the save on the end. Glad you folks like it!
Anyone care to tell me how? Thanks!
This is epic. Screw playing on peaceful mode, I give you kudos just for having the patience for building this giant thing!
