So recently I've been working on a big project in the nether. This project used A LOT of redstone wire and redstone torches. And i don't know if this is a glitch or what, but often when i activate something a redstone torch on a repeater or otherwise "burns out". I really dont understand it, i hear a SSSS and the redstone torch loses power even though every law of redstone states it should be on! Anyone else having this problem? Does it have nothing to do with the nether? Can you answer these questions? Whats going on?!?!
It's a short circuit. You probably linked the redstone torch up to itself
Try it irl and replace the torch with a battery, it creates the same effect only a bit more catastrophic =)

Listen out for a 'fapfapfapfap' sound. If you are below them, then you will sometimes see slime dripping through the blocks.

wouldn't that just create some small sparks?
well depending on the battery I guess, but I doubt he'll use a car battery or something XD
and yeah it happens when a torch tries to power itself
happens to me all the time because torches power blocks above and stuff which gets me terribly confused sometimes
just carefully check everything is the only solution I can come up with
It does not have anything to do with the nether. I experienced this problem yesterday. Eventually I had to move the circuit over one block to get it to work. Hope that helps.
