I've made a tutorial on how to build a house for more experienced players (I've sped up the clip and took footage of myself gathering resources out because it wasn't necessary)
* People can download my world when it's finished for those of you that are curious about my generated map.
Anyways, take a look you might actually learn a few things or even get ideas for your house creations.
Description:
Step 1: Build the base of your house with whatever you want to use
Step 2: Build the walls (I've used 4 blocks high)
Step 3: Make sure you add a ceiling (for later when I make a 2nd story)
Step 4: Create a door so that zombies won't eat you! (Then resume to step 3)
Step 5: Carve some windows out (so that you can see out and light is able to shine inside the house)
Step 6: Build yourself a quick furnance so that we can make glass
Step 7: Dig a moat around your house for protection (will be completed in ep 2)
Step 8: Once you've made glass, you can now fill in those holes with windows
Step 9: Create a basic chest so that your stuff will be safe and sound
Step 10: Add some light/torches around your house so that zombies won't spawned around your house and also put some torches inside your house
Be sure to check out part 2! (Currently making it)
We'll be covering:
- floors
- stairs
- balconey
- traps
- 2nd floor and More!
lol, I doubt your huse would burn down from that high up, but just don't bring a bucket of lava up with you and forget that your weilding it when you go to use your furnace or toolbox XD

Step 26: Find a spot in your house to dig a set of stairs leading to your basement
Step 27: Now make an area so that you have a lot of room to walk around because later on, I will be creating some storage rooms
Step 28: Create a set of stairs (It's annoying to keep pressing the spacebar all the time)
Step 29: Create a hallway so that it can be later branched off into to seperate rooms
Step 30: Go ahead and customize your first room by adding in windows, chests etc
Step 31: Create a workbench so that you do not have to walk back upstairs to craft stuff. Also, place some signs so that your rooms will be organized and it can be quickly identifed
Step 32: Feel free to create individual rooms to keep your stuff safe! Plus, it just looks cool!
Be sure to check out part 4! (Currently making it)
We'll be covering:
- Decorations
- Water fountain
- Garden, roofs and More!
Step 33: Punch out some wood and replace those holes with glass (to give it a better look)
Step 34: Time to make the roof! Kind of hard to explain... so follow along!
Step 35: Place some torches around your house to light it up!
Let's see what it looks like from the outside...
Step 36: Next, let's make some fences. Then place them around your stairs to create a nice feeling (of some sort). I've seen people stack fences on top of each other in multiplayer... but I don't know how to do that in SP.
Step 37: Now let's make some decorations! =] My favorite. You can place them all around your house or you can build a seperate room for displaying pictures...
Step 38: Time to make a fountain! Make yourself a set of steps.
Step 39: Then use your shovel to clear out some space infront of your house or wherever you decide to place it
Step 40: Place some cobblestone to make your walkway to your fountain :]
Step 41: Then start building your fountain! Don't use the exact measurement that I've used because I messed it up and I fixed it in the next clip.
Step 42: ER! The trees are so annoying! So i decide to light it on FIRE! Plus it will also give you a clear view of the house
Step 43: Make a little sign for your house. In this case I called mine "Welcome to theshadowcave house!" (Enter your own text)
Step 44: See, this is where I screwed up... :/ sorry!
Step 45: Now in the center of the fountain... you'll have to place several steps ontop of each other so that the water will pour around it
Step 46: Now use a bucket of water and place the source block ontop of the column. Then voila!!! Enjoy the peaceful sounds of water lol
Step 47: To conclude part 4, add some fences around around your front yard to give it a more cool look
Be sure to check out part 5! (Currently making it)
We'll be covering:
- Garage
- Fireplace
- Garden and More!

Pro tip #2 - Include the Steps in the discription so people don't have to search your vid for a specific step.
Other then that, won't it burn down?
And I don't think my house won't burn down... I've always done that with my houses that I've made... unless
Notch fix it in the halloween update? O_o

This is how I build my basic house in minecraft singleplayer.
You do not have to use the exact blocks, dimensions etc...
This video is sped-up and clips of me gathering resources are not shown
Hopefully this video will inspire you to make an awesome house of your own!
Step 11: Use the shovel tool to dig 1 square down to the ground
Step 12: Use whatever type of block taht you want your floors to look like, you may also create a pattern but I choose not to...
Step 13: Create a set of stair for your house (You may use wood or cobblestone)
Step 14: Make an opening so that you'll be able to walk up without hitting your head :tongue.gif:
Step 15: Build a wall for your 2nd floor (4 blocks high) Remember... you may use your own dimensions!
Step 16: Create a ceiling for your 2nd floor, later we will replace some of those blocks with glass
Step 17: Make some fences and place them around your balconey so that you won't fall off :tongue.gif:
Step 18: Punch some holes out (2nd floor walls) we will need to lighten the room up. Then we will add some glass later
Step 19: Create a door for the 2nd floor
Step 20: Punch some holes in the ceiling for some natural light, plus it looks cool, then fill it in with glass
Step 21: Instead of punching holes in the ceiling, we will punch some holes on the floor to create a sweet look for your house
Step 22: Add some torches around your house
Step 23: As for the moat/trap dig 2 squares wide and 2 squares deep (Or make it as big as you want -- That's what she said)
Step 24: Make an unlimited water supply
Step 25: Add some fences around the front (main) door
