I'm going to make a spawner into a gravity trap, but I'm not sure how many blocks to go down in order to kill them. How much health does the healthiest hostile mob have?
When the second reply is above the OP, it's referred to as "Wizard'ing" and it's a bug with some forums where you respond within the same minute as I posted.
If not, one of the things he said was a problem with gravity traps is that spider riding skeletons were a problem. The spider would die, but the skele would live. To combat this you could have the gravity trap transition into a lava trap or something.

No I didn't get the idea from that thread, but thanks though, that looks like a cool schematic.
As for that problem, I figure I would make a dual-purpose collection pit that will also drown the skeletons that don't die on impact.
Edit: How the heck did I end up ninja'ing the OP? o.O
Thanks for the answer!
on topic: Erm just build it all the way to bedrock to make sure :wink.gif:

"Normal" enemy mobs have 20.
Slimes vary.
Herobrine is invincible.
