Do you ever lag? Nope. I run at a very steady 150+ FPS in MC on max video settings while simultaneously running Firefox and World of Warcraft (which is also running at 50-60+ fps on max settings)
High five to someone who knows how to use a PC properly without resorting to brute force!
I actually Have a reason for my parts. If you haven't read my post.
Computer 1:
i7-920, GTX 460 1GB w/ 9800GT, 8GB DDR3 1600, Corsair PSU, SSD.
Computer 2:
Phenom II X4 955 BE, HD 5770, 4GB DDR3 1600, 40GB SSD.
Computer 3:
Athlon II Tri, HD 5670, 4GB DDR3 1333, 40GB SSD, Tons of extra hard drives.
It really depends on what you are doing. I personally have the Phenom II X4 PC because I got it cheap from a friend :smile.gif:
Oh ok I just assume everyone who posts ridiculousness PC specs are gonna be the types I use to see in my computer store.
But some people actually need this sort of stuff for their profession.
I'm mainly grumpy about people who just buy the most expensive stuff they can afford without actually matching parts together for a purpose =/
I don't lag on this computer much, but my minecraft crashes a lot more. Like that redstone game of life thing will run really laggy and slow but otherwise fine on my macbook but on my PC it will have very little lag but it will crash
So basically anything that induces even a small amount of lag can crash my minecraft on my PC. I'm guessing it's windows 7 faggotry.

LMFAO. i7-980x is a peice of garbage. Get a EVGA Classified SR-2 and two cheap Xeons supported. More power than a i7-980x. Plus, Your GPU will be a bottleneck once you get apps that will test the 980x.

I looked that up and... wow... $1,000 for a CPU. Talk about overkill.

Yep... my PC's built for 2 main things... Engineering computation and music production. Still made sure it can run Crysis on max though and convert video and serve the house with media. Next stage is to put windows 7 and mac OSX on and go RAID 1 for data and backup purposes, and RAID 0 for my main OS.

Do you ever lag? (For me, lag is anything below 30 fps)
I only lag when using 256x256 textures coupled with that certain mod which lets you have enormous moons in the sky, using moon.png files greater than 3000 pixels wide. Other than that, using 64x64 textures, 1920x1080 fullscreen mode, firefox and music player running in the background, I get 50-60 fps on far render distance, 80-90 fps on normal.
