Y'know, Minecraft is really such a depressing game when you think about it.
Especially Alpha.
One lone man is thrown out into a harsh world, and by his first night there he has to rip down trees with his bare hands in hopes of making a shelter to protect him from the many evils that ravage the lands at night.
And when he dies? Nothing. Nobody will ever remember the lone man because there is nobody to remember him.
You never know, maybe people come in the future and you're building like the Egyptians, leaving mighty structures for future generations to find.
Or maybe you washed up in an unexplored land, theres tons of scenarios. Although if Notch ends up adding NPC villages and stuff like was hinted it will get alot less lonely i suppose.

Literally just found some, what does it do??
It's nice that you used the word "literally" because if you hadn't done that, I would have thought that you figuratively found some. Thank you for making that clear.
That's where you're wrong LordCreeper, the Minecraft guy is actually a last ditch effort of dozens of humans that uploaded their consciouses into a single organism's brain (think Being John Malkovich). The organism in question is super strong and is in fact immortal. They had to do this because of a zombie plague that was wiping out the entire world. All that remains of the old human race are skeletons, ghouls, and mossy ruins filled with doodads. Only Homo superior remains now.

LordCreeper, your person has headgear.
I dont think its depressing. The man uses the world to his extent. He can build huge things, and do ANYTHING because there is no person to stop him. He is free! (Until a creeper sneaks up on him, but thats a different matter)

Yeah thats a invEdit glitch.
You put a block on your head (in InvEdit), you wear it in game (Till you take it off.).

Manly blood is both highly acidic AND highly basic, but I'm glad to see you're paying attention.
In my opinion, it's not depressing at all. The loneliness is beautiful. You can go anywhere, do anything. You have an entire world to yourself, free from the restraints others would naturally place on you. The world belongs to you and you alone.
Kinda something I've always sorta dreamed about.
Oh, and as a bonus, if you get tired of someplace, you can just blow it to kingdom come and move somewhere else.
Especially Alpha.
