IM making a castle over the ocean and im trying to make a base i dig a hole in the floor and made a room underwater the only problem. i thought making the room would block the water and empty the basement i was wrong. now im stuck trying to figure out how to get the water out
How do i get it out?
water in minecraft doesnt work in the conventional, expected sense. All water is either a source block or comes from a source block. ALL water in an ocean, sea, or natural pool of some sort is a source block. moving water is not a source block. to remove source blocks you have to either pick it up with a bucket or place a block in its location, removing it. to remove moving water you must either block the flow or remove the source block
Yeah fill it up with an easily breakable block or maybe if there was a f reaking sponge
There is, you can hack it in. However, if you are

B. Australian
then you will empty it out using sand or a bucket*. *Oh, if you try using a bucket, remember that on a 1 deep pool, any water block adjacent to any 2 other water blocks will regenerate. So good luck with that last layer if you're too lazy to break out the sand.

Actually, that's the best mental image ever. A dying, drowning man stuffing his face from a massive wall of cake, and carving out a monstrous underwater cake picture. I'd pay to watch that irl.

I don't want to know.
