I am having a lot of frustration making this automated minecart station in my base.
I have the looping booster, with indicator light near the entrance. I also have wired a stone pressure plate to another piece of track to 'request' a minecart.
The problem is, I need to load the booster every time, which doesn't make this automated.
So, I need some help making an auto loader system, or something along those lines.
Yes, I have seen 'Bob's minecart tutorials', thats what helped me get this beginning booster finished. But he doesn't mention about auto loaders, and he doesn't show the run-away minecart detection system.
Here are a couple of pictures showing the booster set up.
Here is the looping booster, pretty simple.
Wooden Pressure Plate wired up to a redstone torch on the other side of the room.
The wiring from the wooden pressure plate to the redstone torch. Acts as an indicator light.
The wiring of the Stone pressure plate to the track switch. Acts as a 'request cart' button.
The end of the wiring up to the track switcher.
And a final view of the room so far, the boosters and such plan to be behind a wall. Call this room a test room, really. Yes, all the holes will be patched up and such.
I can always expand past the booster, but i cannot expand any other way; one way I hit the outside of the base, the other I fall into my mob trap, and the other I hit my storeroom.
i was about to say
"watch bob's tutorials "
but alas, i actually read your thread before posting
i cant tell what you did wrong or need to do based on pictures
any way you can take a video?
Agh! I knew I forgot to add to something to the post! I'll post up the save AND take a video and edit the post. The save won't be up for a little bit though, I'm on an alternate computer that doesn't have the world. ASAP, though.

I'm not sure on where you can and where you can't expand, but the booster reload is easy. After the cart goes out of the booster have it make a loop and then come back at the booster. If that booster cart is the one you use to get to the next station then you need an empty booster on the other end to load your cart in, or you need change your setup so you have another cart to travel between stations and only use the booster cart to launch you out of a station.
Hmm, I think I understand that...I'll backup the save, upload it here, and try to add something like that.
No need to bump it, I just lengthened the booster track to have it loop. Did some research and watched a couple of Rolf-David's videos, and it explained it quite well.
So now I'll be finishing this up, I'll post up the save when its finished.
Its the thought that counts. :smile.gif:
Thanks,
Richard
