I'm looking to make a list of some interesting challenges I or some other people in the community could try to make Minecraft Alpha more difficult. Almost like different game modes. For each of these to work, I would suggest playing on the game modes Hard or Normal.
Challenge #1
Game Mode: Toothpick
Description: The player is only allowed one wooden pick, from then he must use it accordingly to gather whatever materials he/she pleases. A common setup would be 33 cobblestone, from there, the player can only use 33 cobblestone when crafting tools. Once the 33 cobblestone is gone, the player CANNOT CREATE MORE TOOLS. Instead they must use what they gathered to make or improve their shelter. Whoever can make the best shelter from 33 cobblestone worth of tools wins, someone tell me if this sounds too complicated.
Challenge #2
Game Mode: Flower Power!
Description: For every block broken, the player has to collect a flower, for every tool crafted, the player has to collect a flower. All flowers must be planted as close as possible to shelter. Simple enough, but quite humorous when you live in a dirt hut surrounded by flowers.
Challenge #3
Game Mode: Gladiator
Description: The player is not allowed to build shelter of any kind, instead the player is given an iron sword, a bow, and a stack of 64 arrows, no blocks can be modified or broken, and nothing can be crafted, the player has to see how long they can survive with only those 2 weapons.
