The one thing that I want to change on light is for a block to not leave a shadow directly below it when it's so extremely far. A block should put a shadow in a vertical line directly below it similar to how a torch works. 1-2 blocks below it would be shadowed, 3-4 would be dimmed, 5-6 would be almost completely bright, and at a distance greater than 7 tiles, a single block would leave no shadow on the ground below it. A also think that there needs to be 1-2 more levels of darkness. When I seal myself in a lightless cage, I'd expect the space to be pitch black.
That sounds like a good idea. With this, the lower floating islands wouldn't be as dark, and that would be more realistic. In fact, this would simulate side lighting in a way, since shadows can't "travel" that far...
I see the lower islands a great thing for players who like to rl, the top islands belong to the riches and stuff, while the bottom ones are for the poors and have to live on the dark and shadow of the riches, etc.
In the level generation could be implemented some type of clock 12PM would be like it is now, lighting comming from above and lets say 2pm it would be comming from the side, it could had night hours, etc.
I think the shadow area its fine how it is, what has gonna be the point of shadows if it was easy to see in they? But for players with a problem with that, maybe your eyes could get used with the dark after 15 minutes everthing start to lighting up, but once on the light everthing would be extreme brigh

I agree. There should be a limit to how dark the shadows can get - dark enough to really have an effect on your vision and make torches useful, but not to the point where you literally cannot see anything (as it currently is).
