I'm having problems loading my save file on infdev. I created it before all the hoo-haah with the save file format, and since then I have been unable to load it. Although, after trying something out that I had heard of through the forum (deleting my inventory with NBTedit) I actually loaded the level, but error'd after three seconds. After setting my health to 0 (using NBTedit) I re-spawned away from my city. From what I understand, it's an error with the signs, and my city is filled with signs, yet when encountering a sign at my re-spawn point, no error occurred. So here is the error I'm getting now when attempting to enter my city.

has anyone else experienced such a thing, even after the supposed "fix" update made by notch? I'm sure I can't be the only one.
Look, neither /infdev/ nor /indev/ is stable enough to be played regularly. Notch always updates and alters stuff, which may cause bugs crashes and broken save files.
You need to delete this save and start another one.
it could be that notch changed a attribute on a block that is used in the city (thus being why it crashes when you get in sight of it) since it would then be rendered. try placing each block that was used, see if one of them crashes your game. though i doubt it will. since it would be the new version of the said block. (id recommend making a backup copy anyhow... <.<)

Science might be an annoying b***h, but Magic is her slutty, drug-addicted cousin. Who enjoys screwing with your head.
Are you using a reskin? While I don't think it would cause a crash, Notch also updated the color of wool. I never use reskins myself but uh, you might try changing the skin back to the plain ol' normal skin.
Actually if it's a relatively old save you might want to try deleting the minecraft cache from local. It won't get rid of your save, just reload all the files.

My suggestion: Spawn at a safe place, and as soon as it's not crashing, save and quit the world. Re-load, and see if you're getting any joy out of it.
MPeti can I use NBTforge on infdev? I'm definitely not aware of that if you can... :S
Silvertie- I've gotten it to a point where I can walk around as much as I like, right up until I get within eye shot of my city, then it crashes...:S
