When ever I go to play indev, i can play for one time, the next time i try to play, after clicking out of the first time, it just has a black block where the game should be. I have a Mac OS X 10.5.8 please help i would like to get this fixed!
Also, i just was playing, after i restarted my computer, and after like 5 minutes, it froze and went back to minecraft homepage, then i tried to go back to infdev, and again, black box.

You're probably getting an Error 43 from Java, which means the classloader is already loaded. (Or something.) Open up your Java console and watch it whenever you execute Minecraft. Use the Java console to flush out the class lists, etc..
I get this same problem with both infdev and indev. There might be some way to fix it in the Java console thingamabobber, but I have a simple solution that works for me.
Restart Safari/your browser. You do not need to restart your computer, just your browser. In the dock, right click Safari and then click quit. Start it back up, get to minecraft, and it should work fine.
I used to have a similar problem to the messing up after five minutes of playing, but I think it fixed itself. It might have been my internet connection.
If you have a problem with sound, Notch posted how to fix that forever ago. I don't feel like finding it though.
The problem with sound is that it doesn't work on macs at all. >_>
But yes, just restart the browser and it should be fine. I'm on a mac as well. As for the crashing, that only happens to me when I have fog on full for a while.

You ARE using a mac so that could be the problem.

Ceci n'est pas une signature.
I can play for maybe 20 seconds at a time. Then it'll get really laggy, give me a black screen and stay that way until I close Safari and reopen it.
What to do?
What model and year is the computer from? Can you play most other new games normaly? Do you have the latest java version?
I can play any game that reads to be compatible with Macs, with no problems. I do have the latest Java. This is a 2008 desktop OS X, version 10.5.8.
Is that helpful?
