Infdev update, time to sleep
I’ve updated infdev with the new trees, sand and gravel, plus fixing the lighting code. I have to go sleep now.
Monsters and animals were supposed to be part of this update. They work on my local computer, but for some reason, it’s not spawning created on the web page version.
I still need to work a lot on optimizing the code, and I think there are a couple of new bugs in there that I will fix this week.
I expect to start work on multiplayer next week, hopefully.
I brought up a saved map, wandered around, and soon found the new trees, it's very cool, and very laggy. Also, I can't find ANY sand or gravel in my saved map. I didn't try a new one, I was wondering if that's the case.
I did find sand and the awesome trees right away, but I shouldn't be having the lag make it unplayable (on the lowest setting). I think its the map generation that is part of it. I little trouble with lag when walking through areas I had already explored but when entering new areas it was impossible to play.
Yes. Torches. Black. I second this... or ninth, or whatever.
Yeah, well.
EDIT: torches crash also on new maps.

"Most countries are static, and they need to do is keep having babies. But America's like this big old clanking smoking machine that just lumbers across the landscape scooping up and eating everything in sight."
Edit: If you could up the transparency of the leaves so it's not completely dark underneath the trees and lower the rate you gain saplings, this would be pretty good.
For the love of God, don't kill me, but I hate the new tree update. The trees are too big, and the overwhelm the landscape. In the screenshot he posted it looked like he had giant trees. But instead we just get all the same type of huge, ball like trees.
Nice work on the sand and gravel though :biggrin.gif:
way too laggy :C
EDIT: Yyyyeeeeeeeah. No torches for me, either.
Also the new trees dont auto die, which is only mildly inconvenient.

Then I opened up a new tab, went to a site that also uses Java, and then went to Infdev in the other tab.
Crashed Firefox.

Yeah, well.

Just like everybody else, the screen goes black when a torch is placed. (Using Google Chrome)
But as far as speed, I only have minor lag. And that is with BitComet hogging all of my bandwidth
On a Plus Note,:
Yays all around! :tongue.gif:
Here from the beginning, to the end!!! Minecraft FTW!

And I know my avatar is a tree
