Are you tired of having random people go through the door in your homes, and steal your stuff out of your chest? Tired of having to hide your stuff so people won't take it? Well do I have a solution for you! Below is a quick video on how to make a very simple door lock, without the need of red stone. Combine this with your cuboid or other cuboid like plugin server house and nobody will be able to get in if you don't want them to!

One: place the door from the other side. You can interact with switches through the windows of a door if you are standing on the same block as the door.
Two: this lock only works when you are home. If you ever want to leave, you are vulnerable.
Three: not only can another player steal your stuff, but they can lock you into your own home with the switch outside.

1. If you do it that way, the lock only works from the outside, hence people can lock you in.
2. True, but this is the best you can get without the use of red stone. I'm making a more advanced red stone lock tutorial later.
3. With this method, they can't, if you place the door from the other side like you said however they can.

Having spent a fair amount of time working with redstone mechanics, I can say that current flows based on the block, not the orientation. The orientation effects whether the door is open or closed with current and from which side you can stand on the door's block. If you are standing on the door's block, you can interact through the windows.
You set the door down from the left in the video, allowing someone to stand on the door's block from outside, if you set it down from the right, it will prevent any interaction through the windows when locked.

If you do that, people can lock you in. It is near impossible to interact through the window, as I just tried.
As I said in my other thread, I like the constructive criticism, but how much can you ask of a door lock with no redstone? Of course there are going to be flaws. When you dumb down a door lock this much, you usually don't get super technical because most of the people making a dumbed down door lock like this don't even know what you are talking about.
If someone wants in your house to steal your stuff, they will just break the door or build around it, its really not that hard. Making a locked door only keeps honest people honest.
Cuboid prevents that. I'm pretty sure Cuboid was mentioned by the OP.
For that matter, you can set Cuboid so that non owners can't use doors or switches or chests, so this whole thread seems moot.

What he said^^
But as for the whole thread being moot, what ever that means, this is just to add realism to your house IF you want, I know door locks are pretty popular in minecraft, and a lot of people don't want to take the time to learn how to make a door lock that serves no purpose other than realism in their single player world, but this is just an easy way of doing it,

EH! So how is it that two blocks of cobblestone have kept you away from me for an entire month on World 1?
Great idea tho, I might replace my random cobble with a door someday.
If you knew what they were ohdamnshitting about, you'd ohdamnshit too.
